SERF has a cover crop project to announce. It started in Sept 2023 with @YvonneLawley_UM and @lstruckm as co-PI's. We are the lead org in a grant worth $1,498,693 USD for cover crop strategy research for prairie region. @FoundationFAR @PepsiCo

Our PepsiCo Regen Ag program for 2024 crop season is wrapping up modeling for canola and oat. Farmers in the program will be getting their money in March.

Here is a new intercrop paper. SERF was one of three sites that worked on this project at Redvers. Unfortunately our site's data was deemed of inadequate quality for inclusion in this publication. It was included in the thesis.

What separates intellectual and technical contribution to a scientific trial? Is the difference how established or common the knowledge or technique entailed is? I'm asking because there seems to be large differences in how this is interpreted for purposes of publication.

@ProfAgronomy Considering I gave the PI the idea for the trial, the treatments, the seeding rates, crops to use, found an industry co-funder, and ran three years of field trials, I would say my contribution was very significant.

@gurcharn_brar The quality of our small plot work would put many PI's to shame and I don't mind saying so. But yet we're treated similar to a lab that runs samples for analysis.

Yes we get paid to do research. So do the technicians, profs, and grad students at Universities. We all are expecting to get paid for our work. And should be getting co-author, even if it is the end of the list.

@lawrencejessej @realJohnKempf @MikeWolfendenNZ @FredVLarsen @jasonmauck1 We drone broadcast seeded forage seed around wetlands on 21 acres this month. It got harrowed before and after. We'll see how it does in the spring.
