Our crews worked through the night and continue to make progress on restoring service. They've brought the lights back on for about 36,000 customers and won't stop until everyone is back. About 9,000 to go.
11pm update: There are 11,464 customers without power in Seattle, Lake Forest Park and Shoreline. As crews restore outages, more continue to happen. Crews continue to work throughout the night to restore power. Updates:
UPDATE 9:30 PM: There are approx. 4,600 customers w/o power. Many of these are small, individual outages which is impacting repair time. But we're fully equipped and our crews will work through the night until power is restored to all.

Tips to stay warm:
1) NEVER use generators & bbqs indoors. Keep them outside, away from windows.
2) DON'T use a gas stove to heat your home.
2) Layer up w/ clothing & blankets.
3) Shut doors/windows.
4) Camp out in one room.
5) Set up a tent inside your warmest room.

Crews are in the field responding to widespread outages due to today’s weather. With 100+ events, we’ve got a lot of ground to cover, which can extend restoration times beyond what is typical. We’ll work through the night until every customer is restored.

The lightning storm has triggered a large number of outages in our service territory and many power lines and transformers have been hit. At this time we can't give accurate restoration times but will do our best to get everyone restored as soon as possible.
Crews are responding to an outage that extends from Westlake to Magnolia, affecting more than 9,000 customers. The cause is under investigation and the estimated time of restoration is 3 a.m.

There are currently many scattered outages across our service territory. We are doing our best to get everyone's power restored as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
If you come across a downed wire, tree or pole, stay back at least 30 feet and call 911 for assistance. Do NOT try to move or clear any debris that is touching electrical equipment.
Update: Currently, there are 114 outages across our service territory, impacting 28,000 customers. We're hoping the number continues to drop as our crews make repairs in the north and south regions.

4:45am update: crews restored power to more than 11,000 customers. 22,000 still w/o power. If you're heading out, traffic lights might be out and now a 4-way stop, stay far away from downed power lines, and make sure to have emergency supplies in your car.
Power has been restored to the bulk of the Northgate outage. 842 remain without power and our crews continue to work hard to get everyone up and running again as soon as possible.

Freezing rain has arrived and along with it icy roadways and sidewalks. Stay safe out there!Remember, if you encounter a down power line, stay back at least 30 feet and call 911 immediately.
Today's snowfall will cause tree branches to sag and fall, potentially bringing power lines down with them. If you see a downed power line, keep your distance and report it at 206-684-3000 or 911. If a power line falls on you while you are in a car, stay in the car and call 911.
Most of the Capitol Hill outages have been restored. We hope to get Lake Forest Park restored around 11 pm. There are many other scattered outages that we hope to restore as soon as possible.
12/2 12AM UPDATE: Thanks to a tremendous effort by Seattle City Light crews, power has been restored to nearly all customers in North Seattle, Shoreline, and Lake Forest Park. Some additional clean-up and repair efforts remain, but larger projects are complete for now.

is standing up an emergency smoke shelter for people experiencing homelessness. The shelter is located in SoDo and can serve approximately 80 individuals.
We know that it has been a frustrating day for many customers still without power from this morning's wind storm. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to restore power to as many customers as possible as quickly as we can.
Our crews have reduced the number of customers affected by the outage in Capitol Hill and Eastlake from more than 6700 down to just 804. We hope to have everyone fully restored as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
