There was a rare outbreak of tornadoes that struck parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island on Friday. The twisters uprooted trees, knocked out power and caused widespread damage.

Lights hang from the sky over the Station Fire Memorial Park tonight as we remember the tragedy that occured here 19 years ago. 100 white lights honor those lives lost, 200 colored lights for of those injured, and blue and red lights in support for the first responders.

“All Black Lives Matter” is being painted on the road in front of Kennedy Plaza in Providence. Organizers say this is just the beginnings of a larger project working with local artists and the city. They’re hoping to have it unveiled by the end of the month.

Ambulances from all over the state have been filing into this respiratory and rehab center in Coventry after a fire on the third floor for about a hour now. I’ve seen nothing like this before… they pull up, open the back doors, load a patient, and pull out as a new one files in.
