Thank you for the timely intervention @HonMoses_Kuria . This will go someway in the mainstreaming of private sector into the provision of primarily healthcare
This morning I met with the leadership of the Rural & Urban Private Hospitals Association of Kenya (RUPHA) and Kenya Association of Private Hospitals (KAPH) in Mombasa to discuss Taifacare Digitization in private hospitals as we work towards achieving our Universal Healthcare goals as a country. We tackled several issues and resolved to assign County Health Promoters to private healthcare facilities to assist with registrations while continuing to have more engagements with all stakeholders.

📢 RUPHA Survey Findings: SHA Payments & NHIF Arrears 💡 SHA Payments (Oct-Dec 2024): October: 19% paid, 81% unpaid November: 23% paid, 77% unpaid December: 20% paid, 80% unpaid 💵 NHIF Arrears: 49% of facilities received no payments. 40% were paid, but 11% were unsure of the payment's purpose. These trends highlight systemic challenges in payment disbursement, jeopardizing healthcare service delivery. RUPHA continues to advocate for improved processes and timely payments. #HealthcareFinance #HealthSystemsStrengthening #RUPHA #UniversalHealthCoverage

📢 Key findings from RUPHA's Dec 2024 survey on SHA-contracted healthcare facilities: 🏥 Ownership: 77% were private facilities, 20% Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), and 3% Ministry of Health (MoH). 💵 Payment Challenges: 58% of facilities received no payments in the last 3 months. Of those paid, 58% got just one payment, and only 6% received all due payments. 🌟 These delays threaten service delivery! RUPHA is advocating for streamlined claims, better communication, and timely payments to sustain healthcare operations. #HealthFinance #UHC #Kenya #HealthcareSystems
