So hereโs the problem. Both the AAC and MW have large exit fees that only get bigger the shorter the notice. Neither the schools nor the PAC 4 can afford that. Reconstituting the PAC will be hard especially with no TV deal. The only course of action is a merger with either.

Merging with the MW has the advantage of its TV deal ending in July 2026 and it provides a short term bridge for OrSU, WSU, Stanford, and Cal to improve their stock by grabbing CFP spots. That positions them well to get picked up by the Big 12, ACC, and maybe the B1G later.
