@Aberdare_RFC @Daiwilliams_183 You’ve made this worse. Have a rethink and give a better response

@ospreys Surely us purists would expect 15-9, 1-5, then 6, 8, 7? 😉

@Oweninsouts @Atticus_75 These aren’t Ponty kids. They are kids from other Towns and Villages within the Pontypridd Schools district. I’d wager most of them beat Ponty, regularly, playing for their local Club. Pontypridd RFC isn’t as relevant to them as it was for you at that age.

@Oweninsouts @AllWalesSport Firstly, do you really think the Pontypridd RFC junior players view the Cardiff Age Grade Pathway as their rivals? Secondly, do you think this applies to all junior players from all Clubs within this pathway? (ergo Llantwit Fardre). If you think that, you are very wrong.

@Oweninsouts @AllWalesSport This is what I’m on about. This is what you said. That you were with Llantwit Fardre Youth. That you were linked to Pontypridd. That the current pathway is broken. I’ve offered a counterpoint and asked you to back up your position. You have deflected and avoided answering.

@Oweninsouts @AllWalesSport I didn’t think my question was overly complicated. You claim the age grade pathway is broken, referencing your time at Llantwit Fardre youth. I’ve showed you that Llantwit Fardre had 7 players receive international caps this season. That doesn’t look broken to me.

@Oweninsouts @AllWalesSport Why are you avoiding answering any questions about something you claimed in the first place? You’ve made a point, I’ve asked you to expand on what you mean (a number of times), and you deflect rather than explain your position.

@TheVietGwent @Oweninsouts I don’t disagree about the absence of a defined pathway previously. That’s why I’m trying to get Owen to describe what exactly is broken with the pathway now, and how it was so much better before.

@Oweninsouts @AllWalesSport Looking to the future; please explain how the pathway for your former club, Llantwit Fardre, is broken and how an East Wales age grade pathway is better than what is already in place (noting that the current pathway has delivered int caps to 7 players this season from that club)

@Oweninsouts @AllWalesSport Pontypridd RFC represents Pontypridd RFC, its players, members, and supporters. This is 2024. It’s not the same as the 1990s. But we digress. Your answer above distracts from your original point about pathways.

@Oweninsouts @TheVietGwent No. The pathway has changed. You are describing a moment in time, from your personal perspective. The youth players now with Llantwit Fardre still have a pathway. It just doesn’t lead to Pontypridd.

@Oweninsouts @AllWalesSport 16 year old boys having an “affinity” with Pontypridd Schools district, does not mean they have an affinity with Pontypridd RFC

@LeeJarvis10 It’s Pontypridd *Schools* U16s. Very different from Pontypridd RFC U16s. You do all the other clubs that those players come from a disservice by pretending they don’t exist.

@RugbyPhilBB @DragonFire1059 Yes that’s true; and by your logic, the “hobbyists” could elect you to the Board Phil. Although I think thats as likely as us going back to a Board with a majority of Club representatives.

@RugbyPhilBB @DragonFire1059 Not on the Welsh eligibility/caps rule. It wouldn’t be something that clubs would have a vote on at AGM. It would come down to a Board decision and the representation there is much better, if not perfect.

@RugbyPhilBB I could not agree with you more. When I saw all those hands go up, it was shameful but not surprising. Community Clubs should be nowhere near decisions on professional rugby.

@KearGareth @WRU_Community @WelshRugbyUnion I know who you are Gareth. You can either live in the past, and rant on here about the actions of unspecified clubs 2 decades ago; or you can speak to somebody representing the club you’re a member of, and ask them to advocate for you.
