1. I was informed last week by ESPN Radio that I will not be retuning as their Voice of College football & hoops. Budget cuts I was told was the reason. It was a great ten year run for me that also included calling the NFL, golf and even one NBA game with Dr. Jack.

October 15th is the 25th anniversary of the

Here’s college footballs biggest issue, besides it’s targeting rule. Going into Sunday there are 18 NFL teams, yes 18, still with a chance to play in the SB. In CFB there might be six or seven teams with a legit chance to win the Natty when the season starts.

Long time Panthers have experienced this despair before. See final game of 2001 season. 10 thousand in the seats, 8 thousand were Patriots fans. 1-15. Seifert was fired the next day. John Fox hired that off season. There is always hope.

Lost my Dad 33 years ago today April 12, 1987. He was just 65. I tried to raise my two sons like he raised me. So sad he missed watching them grow up. A year after he died I started doing play by play at the national level. He would have been thrilled. Miss him every day.

Jake saved the franchise becoming the QB in 2003. Rodney Pete, Chris Weinke and others who came after Beuerlein all failed. There was no QB plan. And then came Delhomme out of no where.
Jake Delhomme will be remembered by many as the guy who threw 5 interceptions in his final playoff game.
Prior to that, he was a critical part of 5 playoff wins, 4 of which came on the road.
This drive before halftime in SB38 was clutch.
