Welcome! Name's Rookie, I'm a writer! Mostly Danganronpa(Hajime focus).
Ao3:
FF:
I tend to write crossovers and rarepairs, or Adam fanfics if it's Hazbin Hotel.
First of all, his army respects him.
Of course, an army will respect their general, this is not respect out of fear, or "forcing" themselves to respect him because they have to.
All of them follow him willingly, they clearly enjoy having him as leader
And can be seen here:
Respect is earned, and by the little interactions we have, Adam earned that respect.
In the complete scene, he is not ordering them, he is not commanding them, he is ENCOURAGING them, and even offering a reward for a job well done.
Sorry, but I don't see any misogyny here.
First of all, I want to clarify that this is not a post to "defend" Adam's behavior, or trying to imply he is a saint.
My goal here is to point out why I never felt like Adam was misogyny, to begin with, and I only noticed once I read the character entry.
The counterargument here could be: "It proves how little he cares for the exorcists" but that's wrong for two reasons.
Here it doesn't feel like Adam hates that a "woman is not following his orders" but rather he hates that one of his own is betraying him.
He acknowledges his exorcists and their strengths.
A misogynist acknowledging women STRENGHT? Something doesn't make sense in that statement, does it? Mr. I wanna command over Women just admitted his Lieutenant is a badass?
1.- Adam didn't do any of this, it was Lute.
Lute was the one to rip her eye off, and her wings, all Adam did was witness the scene.
Adam didn't order it, Lute did it, she has the power as Lieutenant after all.
His only action here was to expel her from Heaven and his Army.
I might add, that arguments such as "Lute only did what Adam ordered" are not fitting either.
Because that is removing credit to Lute's character and own free will, she is sadistic and leaves behind whoever makes a mistake, for Lute this is a sign of weakness.
A mistake
He is the protector of Heaven, and he believes what he is doing is right: Exterminate sinners
One of his best girls allowed a sinner to escape, for him that is a betrayal, it is never shown that he is angry that a "woman is not obeying" he is angry that he let a sinner live.
Let's start with the obvious, the exorcists, it is stated that Adam loves to command them, lording over them because of his warped view of women and that is why his entire army is full of women, to boss them around as mere tools.
...And this is contradicted by his own actions.
And please, Lute is HIS Liutenent.
He is giving a WOMAN a position of POWER, and that implies that if he is no longer there she's going to have HIS position.
Adam follows Lute around too, big boy has no shame in backing her up on her takes.
So much for "Bossing girls around"
Even if we go and think he just says that to Lute because he is "this badass for following my orders" then what about Vaggie?
There's no "You were one of the best because of me" or "I made you the best" or anything that implies he had control over her.
Just "one my top girls"
2.- He cares for his girls, but he doesn't care for traitors.
For Adam, Vaggie is a traitor, someone who betrayed him and his army for what they stand for, he doesn't have to care for someone who in his eyes "sided with the enemy" This isn't related to her being a woman or not
Also the apology, Adam just looks like a puppy who just pissed off Big Momma here.
You're telling me, the "I am too big to order women around" needs to apologize to a woman? Yeah doesn't matter the position they're in, he does what he wants.
He WANTS Sera's approval.
What was Adam's reaction? An angry Adam declaring that the extermination will now be twice a year from now on, and aiming to make the most brutal extermination to guarantee there's no Demon left to put a stun like this.
This is not a debate about whether exterminating the sinner kid was wrong or right.
But I want to add up one thing, Adam getting mad at Vaggie for doing this shows more how sadistic he is rather than how much he wants to "command women"
Another detail, that might be overlooked is that Adam seems to seek Sera's approval, this little interaction speaks volumes of Adam honestly.
It could be because he wants to know why he is in heaven... Or because he really wants Sera to like him, or it can even be both.
This brings me to the next topic: Vaggie.
Because she can be the perfect counterargument for how he treats the exorcists, right?
-Throwing her away like her life didn't matter.
-Ripping her wings and eye as punishment for not wanting to kill a kid...
Except, yes... But NO!
And how this can mean he cares for his girls if he treated Vaggie like this? As I say, this is a betrayal for Adam, in his mind he no longer has to care for her.
Then what can prove he cares for the exorcists? Simple, it's in episode one, an exorcist was killed.
He still thinks Vaggie is one of the best he ever had, and even if the name is stupid because Adam is stupid, he gave it to her to consider Vaggie as THE BEST, meaning he was thinking Vaggie was going to be the best exorcist ever.
THAT is Acknowledging her strengths.
A good counterargument is that this only damaged his ego, and you know what? That's true! But it's only a part of what this scene shows, it shows how angry Adam can get when you damage one of his people.
How vengeful he can be
And for that... You have to care! Adam cares
He also listened to Lute, when stopping him from fighting Charlie and Vaggie.
Sera orders him to take care of the situation, Lute tolds him to avoid violence.
And he did as told, trying to blackmail Vaggie sure a scummy act, but he did by listening... To WOMEN.
Adam's a fraud!
I could totally do a thread about why Adam should join the Hotel for redemption, but that could be for another time.
For now, that is all I wanted to say, and I don't even know if people will read this, and if they do is most likely I'll be made fun of...
But I wanted to share!
The point it's very straightforward.
She is Adam's boss, one that Adam never, ever in his screentime moments complained about, not even once we see Adam say anything that could imply hating that a woman is his boss. In fact, we can tell he has respect for her
The moment Sera orders him to take care of the situation, he does! Sure complains a little but that doesn't translate as "hating what a woman told me to do" but rather "hating to have to take care of this" kind of annoyance, he still follows Sera's orders without complaining.
1.- Breaking Alastor's shield.
The moment the exorcists were being held thanks to the shield, he broke it himself. He didn't command any of his girls to do it or blame them for not being able to break it, he went and did it himself.
The point of all of this? Adam is not commanding, is not ordering, he is being a support for all of his exorcists in the battle, instead of yelling at them what to do as someone who loves to "command women" he is helping them get rid of the bigger threats.
But wait, there's more! How about we talk about Sera? Yup that's right! You know, the WOMAN, that it's literally "Adam's manager"? (Low blow Karen)
Yep, I have a few things to say about her too before we touch the final points of this thread!
2.- He took care of Alastor, as the biggest threat right now instead of sending them to die he went instead.
Sure he wanted some of the "Fun" too, but for someone who "commands them as tools" his actions are guaranteeing they weren't being threatened by Alastor again.
But if this isn't enough to show how much Adam's "bossing around girls" personality contradicts his actions, we still have one more topic: The Final Battle.
Last few points to talk about, would be his last smile at Lute, and not just because I'm a guitarspear sucker, but because... He didn't blame her, he didn't say "You were supposed to keep me safe"
He used his last strength, to smile. Smile for the only person who cares for him.
For someone who sure loves bossing women around, he did much more than just stand in the front lines "commanding" he actually got involved in very strategic ways if I say myself.
To guarantee their victory in the battle, let me show you:
3.- After defeating Alastor, he starts shooting Holy Lights from a distance to the cannibals to give them assistance to increase the odds of their victory against them.
This is one of the reasons I believe Adam should return as a sinner/fallen angel in season 2, to see more of his side of this story after all, 3 sides to a story:
-Your version
-Their version
-The truth
So! In conclusion, I will repeat, I'm not trying to "clean" Adam's image, he's a complete egocentric jerk, and I love him for that.
I want to point out how his own actions, contradict his "beliefs" on women
Why? Simple, because "The rules AREN'T black and white"
Hazbin Hotel has proven to me that characters are deeper than we think, and Adam's behavior carries more meaning than we might think.
And lastly, of course, we were going to touch this topic: Lilith.
And you know what I have to say about this? Nothing... Because we know little next to nothing about Lilith, just two things.
"The Story of Hell" that honestly smells like BULLSHIT.
Adam at the very least respects this deal with Lilith, and even when having the chance doesn't brag about it with Lucifer keeping it a secret even after being mocked for losing Eve to him too. (He should've had tbh)
It doesn't really mean much but it's worth remembering.
So, we can only wait and see what is the real story behind Adam, Lilith, Eve, and Lucifer, because there's a lot not being told here that is' keep a secret.
Which will be kind of hard without Adam now...
Adam's views of women could be for two reasons, something that he was either told or happened during his creation and the situation with both Lilith and Eve... This means, there's more behind Adam's story that is directly linked to them that we still haven't seen.
And that she's been 7 years in Heaven without anyone knowing if I start talking about what could've happened between Adam and Lilith and how Adam demanded control... It would be PURE speculation, and I am making a thread with actions done by Adam in the show.
She literally studied Ai to match the type of girls Aqua is into, and the first interaction that started the romance is literally her playing to be Ai, what are you on about?
Aka trying to brush off everything that Akane did, everything that make me loves her by forcing the she-was-imitating-Ai-thingy on her is just awful. Completely denying a character of her being, just to pave the road for his fav pair being canon.
Y'all need to stop thinking I'm trying to "defend" Adam's image, the guy's an asshole and he is sexist at best.
All I did is point out how his actions contradict his beliefs, not that is not a jerk to woman, he is just a jerk to everyone in general
The insults I've read are fun
Anything Ruby does, Akane does better.
Akane does everything better than Ruby.
1.- Difficult relationship with jealousy and secret admiration they project through acting? Yes she can!
It amazes me how people still try to defend this.
My brothers in Christ, we all know these "implications" were "always" here, but that's not the only problem.
The other big problem is that Ruby & Co, are forcing Aqua into something he doesn't want to do

I don't have any products or information to recommend, so please watch the video and laugh.
I hope you have a good day today.
No one is taking from me that Adam and Lucifer were best friends in Eden.
And if it's not canon I don't care, is canon in my heart.
This kind of hatred only comes from people who used to trust each other.

AquaRuby shippers are so funny, the three are having a normal conversation and they need to remark the ship just because Kana appears in one panel.
Insecure much? They're just having a conversation no need to feel threatened for one panel if you guys are "winning"
These two fuckers hype each other like nobody else and have arguments like an old married couple, you ain't convincing me they aren't dating

Follow me if you want to see more threads in the future, or a bunch of Guitarspear and Adamsapple takes.
@GearBearArc
Are we not gonna talk about how much Jaune has improved and we finally got a longer than 5 seconds fight scene with him being pair to a possesed Neo by a godlike creature?
Okay, it's over.
I'm done, this manga can die for all I care. It was a good ride while it lasted! Enjoy your disgusting manga AquaRuby shippers, you're disgusting just as this trash ship!
@AmandinhaLeI1
So according to you, I can't like a fit woman or a buff guy because that makes me fatphobic despite the fact that it makes zero sense the type of bodies someone is attract to?
And right after the last episode where they were criticizing how the industry forces teenagers to do these kinds of things and make them believe that it's "right" to do.
Literally no one reads that I'm not defending Adam, I'm pointing out how his actions contradict his beliefs.
Actions speak louder than words.
That is all.
First of all, I want to clarify that this is not a post to "defend" Adam's behavior, or trying to imply he is a saint.
My goal here is to point out why I never felt like Adam was misogyny, to begin with, and I only noticed once I read the character entry.
"Started the romance"
Lol no it didn't,that ai impersonation didn't start romance,it started their so called relationship which was a professional one,the potential romance agenda of aquakane started in 51-52,I can tell u that no aquakane fan shipped them seriously till this 👇
