Most Canadians don't like it. We prefer to be independent. But if Canada became a failed state economically, and it looks like this is the direction we are heading, (big corrupt socialist government) ... then the younger generations, people who have no hope of getting ahead in life, will want the more successful American economic system.

@MikeJCzapla Maybe. And if so, it was an insignificant tiny tiny fruction of 1% of Hamas funding. Not the big picture. And we are diverting more and more from the original post into minor neatpickies.

@MikeJCzapla It doesn't contradict what I said. The only thing it add is that Israel gave Palestinian work permits, which benefited Hamas.

Back to the topic at hand... Hamas is an institution that I believe is a net negative to human flourishing. The US and Israel are institutions that I believe are a net positive to human flourishing. Allowing Palestinians who want to to leave Gaza to leave, is a net positive to human flourishing. Forcing Palestinians to leave... i.e. ethnic cleansing... I'm still not sure. And since I don't know, I don't support this idea at this point.
