Coaching HS golf is such a privilege. The kids are fantastic and say the craziest things:
Today’s: “I would’ve made par if I hadn’t hit those two balls in the water.”
Love it.
Oldest turns 15 years old today.
Here he is receiving his first varsity medal for the team, 4 over par at the Bluffs in Vermilion this fall (4th overall).
Really proud of him as a person, student athlete and son.
The Happiest people I meet at the course (we see a lot of folks) are the most grateful.
The unhappiest are the most entitled.
A club full of grateful people is a good place to work.
This move is going around.
Does the elbow stay close to the hip (common belief) OR is the hip getting closer to the elbow.
Pick door No. 2 for a better understanding of the swing.
We’re nearing the end of the ‘21 season and my 25th at
@golf2rivers
Time flies.
It’s been a blast and I absolutely can not wait til ‘22.
Each season gets better.
I’m so blessed and grateful for my coworkers and the people I get to serve.
Being confronted about slow play isn’t about you and it’s definitely not personal.
Like everything in golf, it’s about everyone else.
Accept the facts and pick up the pace. Help everyone enjoy their day.
I’m really proud of my youngest today.
He didn’t get into the final ball game today and on the way home he asks “Dad, can we go to the batting cage?”
You bet!

My, have they worked. 🏆
The course was packed with high school and college players qualifying for their respective teams today.
All walking, playing as it lies and at a good pace.
It was glorious.
Spitballing here, but what if practice tees were compacted sand vs grass or mats.
Do Players improve once they figure out ball 1st strikes?
Is take. Yes.
