Was 3 years ago today.
I was a 23 year old Graduate Assistant Strength Coach at this point. I worked the 11pm-7am shift to help put money in my pocket because my stipend only covered school. I’d leave the hotel to make it to morning lifts at 7:30am four days a week. Thread👇🏽

You’ve said it, Coach. As an athlete, and even more as a coach, I couldn’t stand listening to a S&C coach that couldn’t run, crossover, shuffle, etc. but had the nerve to “teach” it to me let alone yell at me while I’m training through it.
Very unpopular view that i have in S&C coaching: Most coaches live in the weight room with this lifting false bravado but shrink like testicles in ice water teaching on the field. Want respect from your athletes, cleat-up & teach every modality on the field!

We don’t fit the mold of the strength coach that people are “proud” to see. Probably because we look/sound a certain way but produce same/better results. Weird
