Traditional hand animation is alive & needs to be reinvigorated in the US again instead of sent overseas or overlooked in favor of cgi.
Stop believing it is costlier to do here. That’s a lie. It’s always cheaper & more efficient to do in house where you have control of it.
I remember seeing the unfinished line work animation of this clip at the LightBox Expo in 22, it’s so incredible we’re actually getting a 2D Looney Tunes flick in theaters. (Y’all better go watch and support this if you want more 2D in theaters)

A way out there gag from “Pearl Of My Dreams” that was very satisfying to figure out.
This was a frustrating angle to get to work right. Luckily I was used to forced perspective drawings from the ton I did for Disney with Mickey.

Corporate greed is killing the entire industry. It’s almost totally ruined filmmaking in general.
Sick of execs running off with all the money while laying people off. Time to support independent studios outside of the mainstream.
After Warner Bros took various cost-cutting measures including turning movies into tax write-offs and refused to pay actors & writers for months, David Zaslav’s 2023 pay package is now at $49.7M, a 26.5% increase from 2022.
