Full of PRIDE to see 3
@RiddingsJnr
members of staff recognised with a Derbyshire Beacon of Hope Award from
@Derbyshirecc
- this identifies & thanks those who have worked tirelessly to keep our communities safe during the global COVID-19 crisis.
It struck me that the word ‘Teachers’ is being used when talking about schools staying open for KW children & our vulnerable.
@RiddingsJnr
WOULD NOT be open & the place it is without the Teaching Assistant, caretaking, Mid-Day Supervisor, office & kitchen teams. Thank you all 🤗
Sometimes it’s easy to forget what great staff we have
@RiddingsJnr
always prepared to commit fully to everything in order to make the children smile.
@WorldBookDayUK
@embarkfed
The last day of term has seen a fond & sad farewell bid to Mr Jones who retired today after being part of
@RiddingsJnr
for ‘quite a few’ years. Christmas singing was the perfect way to sign off after all his work in shaping us a singing school
@embarkfed
Big congratulations
@KevGibson5

@RiddingsJnr

Collecting Easter eggs today for
@OscariCafe
and made possible by the generosity of
@RiddingsJnr

@embarkfed
It was a privilege to have Mrs Jarvis present the Year 6 Leavers Books on her last day

Just a small heads up to our Y6 Parents & Carers after yesterday & joining in with the then & now photos - the next few years will disappear too. They grow up far too quickly - Year 6 Leavers Celebration 2016 to Year 11 Prom 2021 🤗😳🤗
Our
@RiddingsJnr
community came together to Remember. Songs, readings & poems performed with deep respect for our class soldiers by the children. Our service ended with a moving Ukrainian poem reminding us that the horrors of war are still with us.
@embarkfed
@PoppyLegion
A wonderful evening performance in front of a huge audience. Thank you for coming to support your children and we hope you’re enjoying watching and listening.
What brilliant news to celebrate
@martin_whiteman
first year with
@RiddingsJnr
further developing a culture of sport & activity with Miss Jones - taking it to new heights. Such great & often unique opportunities for every child
@Ambervalleyssp
@embarkfed
👏 🥇 🏆 🏏 🏉 🚴 🧗♀️
How brilliant to see nearly 30
@RiddingsJnr
children participating in
@Ambervalleyssp
Go Ride event this evening wonderfully hosted by
@kilburnjuniors
- thanks to all our parents for getting them (and their 🚲 ) to the event & to
@martin_whiteman
& Mrs Godber for being with them.
Mr Jones’ class
@ParkinRjs
with the help of 2 highly organised parents presented him with a Mansfield Town shirt (one of the loves of his life!) signed by the children. A special poem read out summed up all that Mr Jones meant to them

Year 6 are heading back to
@RiddingsJnr
this morning. We know it’ll feel a bit different but everything’s ready. We’re looking forward to seeing your faces & for those of you who can’t make it today we’re thinking of you (and Yr 3,4 & 5 of course! 😁).
A little request - if you go past someone on the street please say “Hello” and “How are you?” It might just be the only interaction they have in the day & be hugely appreciated

Today
@RiddingsJnr
remembers the soldiers from WW1 after whom our classes are named & all those who have lost their lives in war. We will also take time to remember the children who have been, and are being, affected by conflict. 10am - St. James’ church, Riddings
@embarkfed
A group of delighted dodgeballers from
@RiddingsJnr
this evening who competed in the
@Ambervalleyssp
competition. Both teams were full of PRIDE with one of them winning the whole event. 👏 🏆 Amazing performance. Thanks to staff & parents for supporting them.
@embarkfed
The fact that it’s taken until now to tweet sums up the final day of Junior School!! We hope Yr6 have left with amazing memories of today & their 4 yrs
@RiddingsJnr
Thankyou parents for your kind words & support of your children & school. Enjoy the summer
@embarkfed
Getting ready for a day of challenge and excitement with
@Acclimbatize
running a day of activities for Yr6 plus
@Ambervalleyssp
and their Tough Runner course for everyone else 🙏 ☀️
2 days down & it feels like we’ve been back 2 weeks. Loads of highlights - first whole school assembly since 16th March 2020 - Free Flow Friday at break & dinner - our new Y3 settling in so quickly & every year group being ‘on it’ within 10 mins. 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️
#RJSPRIDE
A reminder today of the joy in teaching. Heard a ‘Yes! Yes! YES!!’ coming from the hall after school. Investigation revealed a Y6 utterly delighted at getting his hands on this addition to the library!

So much to be proud about from the Year 5 dance troupe who have worked so hard to create & practice their dance routine at lunchtimes. Thanks Miss Vardy & Mrs Henstock for supporting them this evening.
@Ambervalleyssp
for organising
@nieperacademy
for hosting
@embarkfed
Great performances in the
@Ambervalleyssp
athletics today with some storming running, jumping and throwing from the
@RiddingsJnr
Yr3&4 and Yr5&6 teams. 3rd place and 1st for the 5/6s 🥇. Well done everyone 👏
@embarkfed
Dinner time in full swing
@RiddingsJnr
- so hungry that even giant hot dogs are being demolished! Thanks to Sarah and Sarah for coming back to work to help us out!
Yr6 are home and suspect they’re all asleep by now. What a fantastic 3 days of making memories to last. So much PRIDE on show every day and they took everything in their stride. Thanks to our
@RiddingsJnr
wonderful staff for giving up their own time to let it happen
@embarkfed
A rather special visitor came into
@RiddingsJnr
today. Our newest member of staff ‘Miss’ Arwen who took the attention in her stride. Agree an exhausting time being fussed over she discovered a great use for a pile of 📚 waiting to be marked ✅ 🐶💤
Excitement is mounting
@RiddingsJnr
as the addition to the trim trail is taking shape - the children voted for the piece of equipment they’d like and are eager to climb all over their first choice!
Our remembrance of the 100 years since the end of WW1 is taking shape with poppies designed and made by the pupils (keep bringing them in) and research carried out on the soldiers after whom our classes are named.
Where are the fences, the storage units and all the builders?? For the first time for over a year we have our whole playground back! Thanks DCC for all your work.
5am and generally all is quiet
@RiddingsJnr
except for the mutterers, snorers, teeth grinders, sleep talkers, coughers, snorters, sniffers……. probably the noisiest, when sleeping, Year 6s we’ve ever heard!!
A sad but celebratory afternoon tea for Mrs Lonie who is retiring from
@RiddingsJnr
tomorrow after 28 years of amazing commitment to our school and it’s community. You will be hugely missed by us all 😢
At last we have our school back ..... it may not look much but every single window has been expertly repaired or completely refurbished (they are sash windows!). We can now open and close them all - welcome to the 21st century
@RiddingsJnr
😂
Huge apologies from
@RiddingsJnr
but we have had to close today - we have tried to stay open but events and the weather have conspired against us. Apologies for the disruption it will cause you.
Everyone’s been picked up at last. Had a great time today and even the M1 was nice to us on the way home. Hope you all get lots of tales about dead crabs and fish! 🤢 Happily the chips were great! Have a great weekend.
The
@RiddingsJnr
basketballers did themselves proud tonight by winning the tournament
#delighted
. Thanks to
@Ambervalleyssp
and to Miss Jones & Mrs Jarvis for their coaching (plus of course our parents for transporting & supporting the team). 🌟 🌟 🌟
1/2 Yr 5&6 Sports Day ☑️ despite drizzle and then a pretty big rainstorm
@RiddingsJnr
PRIDE triumphed and we all got through it. The finale was a 3 legged parent and child race - very competitive and hilarious! Well done everyone! 👏
@embarkfed
Serious amount of fun had by both teams at this evenings Tag Rugby - a new sport for many of them. Thanks to
@Ambervalleyssp
&
@martin_whiteman
plus our great parents who helped everyone get there.
Following a very moving Remembrance Service class representatives visited the war memorial to pay their Respects on behalf of the school to the fallen.
Well done to the
@RiddingsJnr
sports festival team for getting involved in all the great activities organised by
@Ambervalleyssp
Big shout out to the sports leaders from
@nieperacademy
including one of our super ex-pupils.
Brilliant performances from our
@ClarkeRjs
@TownsendRJS1
basketballers tonight who won all their games & became champions. High quality coaching from Miss Jarrett & Mrs Saint clearly helped. Thanks to
@Ambervalleyssp
too. Well done team - PRIDE in bucketloads
@embarkfed
Getting ready to see Matilda - well done
@nicgodfrey919
& the staff team for getting everyone there in plenty of time. Unlike the 2019 speed march across London when
@RiddingsJnr
last visited - it was the river taxis fault honest! Have a really great evening 🤗
A privilege to be at the Embark Awards with
@saville_e
to see the
@RiddingsJnr
children receive their awards along with others from the
@embarkfed
family. A super event with great entertainment. One rekindled memories of our signed singing of This is Me on
@CleethorpesUK
beach.
