@trpwolff Interesting for sure. I wasn't involved in the primary outcomes paper where depression was the primary outcome but given the very small sample and psychotherapeutic framing of the treatment it seems understandable. Looking forward to hearing about what you found in yours!

@trpwolff It wasn't a focus unfortunately and MEQ didn't correlate with the depression outcome. A few ongoing studies with the APEQ, so will look forward to testing out link between acute states and changes in traits. Will be sure to reference and will try to invite you to explore with us!

@trpwolff An (embarrassing) oversight to not have mentioned this or cited your work. Apologies! We’ve got further support for this that we are close to submitting where we definitely do make reference to it.

@MarkLRuffalo @trpwolff @EikoFried @tkaiser_science I don't think it's helpful to think of most psychiatric disorders as diseases. That aside (and the many limitations with psychedelic research), IF psychedelic therapy does have effects that last weeks-months post-administration, would that qualify as disease-modifying?

I'm a little late to it, but happy to share this (brief) paper where we highlight some potential methodological concerns in psychedelic research, including possible non-equivalence of therapy duration/quality and issues with generalizability

@RCarhartHarris It would be great if these treatments were safe and effective without psychotherapy...but to justify the claim that an intervention does not involve psychotherapy, it seems reasonable at a minimum to ensure that your intervention is not administered by psychotherapists
