@unusual_whales The Department of education was established in 1979. Are students performing better or worse since then? Send education back to the states where it belongs.

@ArmandDoma DOGE is already on to the next thing. You are the one still arguing. Just accept this is a small victory toward a balanced budget and know that more is coming.

As a disabled person, yes, I am fully blind with limited light sensation remaining, I am able to hold two thoughts at the same time. Research can and is useful for solving problems. Government can abuse and waste money. For too long, the government gravy train has been out of control. I fully support the re-examination of every tax dollar being spent by every part of government. Every agency is accountable to the people. Corruption slows down progress.

Open source is the way to go. It is the sunlight that will reveal what is good and what is broken. If the contracts can’t hold up to reasonable questions, then they probably aren’t justified. It’s fair to ask if everyone at USAID needs a pro-tier subscription. It’s fair to ask if the government is getting a good deal. It is fair to ask if USA ID expected more than just subscriptions in return for an enormous sum of money. that is open source in action. Don’t fight it, embrace it.

Well, we probably have different perspectives on politics. That is OK. However, USAID refused proper Senate oversight and even threatened senators who tried to audit their spending. Oversight by elected officials is the means by which disparate political views, like yours and mine, are resolved by elected officials. If USAID believed that they were above the law and unaccountable to anyone, they should be replaced by an organization that remains accountable to both you and me through proper oversight. Hopefully that is something we can all agree on.

@m0chiiz_ @rmc031 @darbysaxbe You don’t appear to be as surprised by what was going on right under our noses for such a long time. It won’t help anyone to be intentionally obtuse. Things need to change.

@SenSchumer @RepJeffries Why weren’t you watching where the money was going. It was so out of control.

@m0chiiz_ @rmc031 @darbysaxbe Are you not paying attention to the revelations of corruption and abuse in agency spending of tax dollars. Of course some review is warranted. It has been too long. To say otherwise is to support unaccountable spending.

@elonmusk This is incorrect. These responsibilities will be picked up by the states, as they should be.

@RepMcGovern This is ridiculous. DOGE is not stealing taxpayer money, they are protecting it. You have failed in your oversight responsibilities. No audits. You have overseen a clipttocracy.
