I’ve always loved the Jets/Coyotes tradition of the Whiteout dating back to 1987 when the Jets called upon fans to wear white to support the home team. The NHL needs to allow home teams to choose their jersey color for home playoff games so players can wear white too.
As the Coyotes play their final game in the Valley tonight, I am so grateful for all the incredible memories & friendships over the last 28 years. Hockey belongs in the desert. What a ride! 🙏
The Coyotes situation is so sad. In the end, this could be the best news yet for Arizona hockey fans. You can’t succeed in sports without a first class owner and a centrally located venue. If these are secured in the future, I have no doubt that hockey will thrive in the desert.
You have to admire the Coyotes players & coaching staff. With all the rumors & speculation the past few days it would have been easy to roll over and not show up in VAN & EDM. Instead, they have displayed tremendous character, pride & professionalism. Good for them.
Bittersweet night as my NHL career with the Coyotes/Jets came to an end after 27 years. I am very grateful to have worked in the League for almost 3 decades. It’s been an honor to work with the most amazing athletes and people and all the great media. Thank you!
So proud of this team & how they battled all season. Despite leading the NHL in man games lost to injury, they never quit & played hard for each other & our fans.
@RealRocket22
and his staff did an excellent job getting our players to believe. We have a bright future in AZ.
You’ve come a long way Doaner. In 23 years, I’ve never met an athlete whose as thoughtful, caring, generous and humble as you. No one has done more for the Coyotes or for growing the game of hockey in Arizona than you. You are a class act and you deserve this incredible honor.

Rick Tocchet played with Dale Hawerchuk at the 1987 Canada Cup. Tocchet emphasized what a great player Hawerchuk was and stressed how much he felt for Dale's family today, calling it a sad day.
Coyotes fans are so lucky to have a beat writer like you cover their team for almost 3 decades. You should be very proud of all the great coverage you produced Craig. It was evident how much you love the sport, the team and most importantly, the fans. Well done my friend!
Last night's crescendo of a column had me flustered for a full week. I couldn't decide on an approach for this key moment in Coyotes history.
An old and trusted friend helped me see it clearly:
What an amazing night honoring the greatest
#Coyotes
player in franchise history. He is so deserving of this honor. It was a special night for a special person.

It’s official. Such a sad day. Good luck to all the players, coaches and staff that will be relocating to SLC. You represented the Coyotes and the Valley with class and will be greatly missed.
Correct...and in return the
#Coyotes
acquired Grossman, Chychrun, Crouse, Hinostroza and Oesterle for 4 players who will never play in the NHL again. Pretty good deals by GM John Chayka.
Just having some fun with salary cap follies here. By taking on dead contracts of Pronger, Datsyuk, Bolland and Hossa, Coyotes will have taken on a total of $49.7 million in cap space and paid out $26.15 million, majority of it insured, for guys who won't play a game for them.

I knew you would be amazing at broadcasting
@BizNasty2point0
. One of the best hires I ever made. You are so incredibly talented and you are a great friend. You were a big part of the Arizona Coyotes and always will be.
Congratulations to

TV Play-by-Play Announcer
@mattycoyotestv
on calling his 1,500th NHL game tonight in Toronto. A tremendous achievement by a great broadcaster and an even better person.
Interesting note regarding the Coyotes drafting Josh Doan today. In his first year with the Winnipeg Jets, Shane Doan wore

These guys bring the heat on and off the ice!
In just a few years,
@SunDevilHockey
has gone from club hockey to one of the most competitive Division I programs in the country.

Great job
@CraigSMorgan
,
@spetershockey

! You should be very proud of all the outstanding Coyotes coverage that you have produced. It’s evident how much the Coyotes meant to you and how much you truly cared about the team and its fans.
Official: We have acquired defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere, a 2022 second round draft choice and a 2022 seventh round draft choice from the

I'm so sorry to hear this news. On behalf of the entire organization, thank you for all the incredible coverage the past 24 years. No one covers the Coyotes like you. We appreciate everything you've done to help us grow our game & hope you will be back covering us very soon!
3/4: I want to thank the Coyotes media relations team for the access they provided me over the years. I want to thank the executives, coaches, scouts, training staff, equipment staff & the players for their time, their insight & the relationships we built.
A shoutout to
@JeSanders11
who has been the consummate professional the past week handling a very difficult and stressful PR situation with class. He would be a great addition to any NHL Media Relations team.
So sorry to hear that Doug McLeod has passed away. Doug and Charlie Simmer helped launch the Coyotes in the Valley in 1996 and did a tremendous job on the Coyotes TV broadcasts for several years. Doug will be greatly missed.
We’re deeply saddened to learn of the passing of longtime voice of
#PrideOnIce
Doug McLeod.
His iconic calls will live on forever.
His family and friends are in our thoughts.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson can win the Stanley Cup with the Panthers on June 15, 2024.
On June 16, 2023, he was bought out by the Canucks.
What a difference a year makes:
Congratulations to
@ArizonaCoyotes
Captain
@OEL23
on being named a finalist for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. A great leader on and off the ice and in our community.
Thanks to all the local and national media for all the great coverage throughout the election. Very disappointing result this evening but as always, we appreciate all your support.
Huge win by the
#Coyotes
at Vegas. Now 4-2 in the last 6 games including back to back wins over 2 of the NHL’s best teams in Tampa Bay & Vegas after flying across the country. Oh, and without 2 of their top 4 defensemen in Hjalmarsson & Demers.
#BrightFuture
Dale Hawerchuk played in the shadow of Gretzky & Messier but Jets fans knew how great he was. One of the most underrated superstars in NHL history. RIP Ducky!
Congratulations to
#Coyotes
defenseman
@OEL23
on winning gold with Team Sweden at the
@IIHFHockey
World Championships. OEL has an assist & scores a shootout goal and was named to the Tournament All-Star Team.
Impressive first 2 months of the season for the
@ArizonaCoyotes
...They are currently 2nd in the Pacific Division (1 point out of 1st), 4th in the Western Conference & 8th overall in the NHL.

Happy Birthday to these 2 beauties Tyson Nash &

Great broadcasters but better people. We are lucky to have them with the Coyotes. Have a great day boys!
