Me in today's Telegraph. Why Britain should not worry about the new age of protectionism. Modern trade is already blended with tariffs, subsidies and government chicanery. Only 20% of our agricultural imports and 65% of other imports are duty-free. Free trade abroad has run in line with greater bureaucratisation and curtailment of business at home.
