Really important point from
@Stillmanator
- Arsenal fans made up the majority of the 21.4k crowd at Molineux today, despite the fact the men were involved in a top-three PL clash.
Arsenal just get it, don’t they? It’s great to see.
Rewatching this a lot. Never thought I’d see a scene like it at an Arsenal Women game. Not that I dismissed the thought but I didn’t really have it in the first place. It’s been so amazing to witness this all coming together so quickly.
A reminder that Manchester City are not the first English team to win four titles in a row.
They are the first *Premier League* team to win four titles in a row.
🚨 RTs appreciated
I’m working on a project and need to speak to a number of Arsenal Women fans and/or journalists that cover the club!
No major rush - any time within the next month would be great 🤝
Feels slightly surreal to say that I’m here at FIFA’s
#TheBest
Ceremony in London, where a number of England’s finest stars are up for awards 🤝
Articles for
@FromTheSpotUK
later.
well that has just absolutely made my day. at a time when there is so much going against women in the football industry, it’s so refreshing to get comments like this about some of our writers 👏
Very excited to say that my press accreditation for FIFA’s The Best Awards has been accepted, and I’ll be joining some of the world’s greatest stars in London on Monday!
And that’s a wrap on the 2023/24 club season!
Privileged to have covered my third and fourth Champions League finals over the course of the last week - can’t wait to tick off some more major finals next season!
Just the small matter of EURO2024 first though 👀
Not going to act like this will be the last of my Bilbao spam, but I’m at the bus station at the moment reflecting on the last few days.
Covering a third major European final at just 18 years old will forever be one of my biggest achievements.
Ticking something huge off the bucket list tonight, as I’m in the press box at the Estádio Municipal de Braga to watch SC Braga v Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League!
Bit of a nightmare getting here, so hoping for a Bellingham masyerclass ti make it worth it!

2023/24 WSL ✅
From winning awards to meeting new mates for life, to travelling across Europe as a fan and as a journalist, this has been the best year of my life without a doubt.
Probably the right thing to do, but the fact it’s reached this stage is just grim.
Hopefully, thanks to the work of
@HerGameToo
and some other fabulous organisations, we’ll soon have a world where women can exist within football without being the subject of vile comments.
I genuinely don’t think my life has ever been better than it is right now.
Job hunt is looking incredibly promising, two trips away planned and surrounding myself with the best people on the planet every weekend.
From rock bottom to the very top in 2 years 📈
🗞️ | Arsenal Women to play 11 matches at Emirates Stadium in 2024/25

covering england at wembley is just one of those feelings that never gets old.
not the result we wanted tonight, but a valuable point on the road to switzerland 🤝
Genuinely think the best thing that’s come from the last year in sports journalism is the people I’ve met.
The last fortnight has been, hands down, the best of my life and I owe it all to the incredible people you see here 🫶
@highfeet3
@LeakerApple
@SheenSid
That’s exactly why they wouldn’t have done it - if you can buy one device to do everything , you’re spending less than you would be if you needed an iPad too.
Think it’s absolutely mental but not at all surprising that this whole story about Luke Littler’s girlfriend being 21 has come out just hours before the biggest match of his life…
Yet again, building up a bright talent just to tear them down when they need the support the most.
I’ve spent my evening in the same building as R9, Pep, Haaland, Marta, Aitana Bonmatí, Sarina Wiegman and countless other incredible footballers - and a guy that bottlefed his baby at a football match.
If you’d have told me that a year ago, I’d have thought I’d needed rehab.
124 days into 2024, FromTheSpot has exceeded our total website views throughout the entirety of 2023.
Unreal effort from every single member of the team, whether you’ve chipped in one article or one hundred 🤝
@FromTheSpotUK
It’s 25 November 2023.
One year to the day since I started taking this whole sports journalism malarkey seriously, and it’s been the best twelve months of my life.
First, I need to thank the two people that gave me my very first platform:
@OwenCummings0
and
@HarrisonJ87
(cont)
That’s my on-the-ground coverage of EURO2024 done… for now, at least!
Been blessed with two great games and I’ll hopefully be back in Germany throughout the knockouts for some more!
On the way home from the final Emirates match of the WSL season… and wow, what a season it’s been.
It’s been nothing short of a pleasure covering this team almost week in, week out. Plenty of highs, just as many lows.
🚨 LOOKING FOR WORK
Having spent the last year overseeing the launch and rapid growth of
@FromTheSpotUK
, I am now looking for freelance opportunities within the Sports Journalism industry.
RTs appreciated, more details below.

Credit has to go to Bristol City for consistently drawing these huge attendances.
9,442 at Ashton Gate here today - is it time for more WSL clubs to move to main stadiums on a full-time basis?!

It’s nights like tonight that truly make me so proud of
@FromTheSpotUK

We’ve had our EURO2024 accreditation approved. I actually cannot put into words how grateful I am.
Hamburg und Köln, wir sehen uns bald!
2023 has been an unbelievable year for me, on both a personal and professional level.
Twelve months ago, I was out of education and spending every waking hour producing content for FromTheSpot, which I’d launched just two months prior.

Ticking two things off the bucket list today 😅
- covering England in a major tournament
- covering a game at the Westfalenstadion
Bring it home boys 🤩

It is 2024. You wouldn’t be able to tell that from this headline though - because apparently Alexia Putellas isn’t defined by her 3x UWCL titles or her WWC medal.
Nope, Enrique here thinks that the fact she is ‘flatter than an ironing board’ is the perfect headline.
Disgusting.
@rajjjshahhh
@lcfcgeorgee
Stick with the club mate or don’t bother supporting at all. You don’t get to experience the highs without the lows, this is English football - unlike in the US, success isn’t guaranteed and that’s what makes it beautiful.
Ticking off the London Stadium tonight, as West Ham look to bounce back from their 2-0 loss in Germany a week ago.

a rather productive day, covering two WSL matches at the Emirates Stadium and Stamford Bridge!
never again though - that dash across London was absolutely nerve wracking 🥲
Interesting snippet on the Man City website this evening - Leila Ouahabi will be in the Catalan squad for their first fixture since 2019!
The full squad list is not due to be announced until 11:00 BST on Wednesday.

I haven’t seen anything personally but if you’re giving Kyra Cooney-Cross abuse for supporting her best mate at a FA Cup final, give your head a wobble.
Two incredible talents that are playing 12,000mi away from home - it’s not all about rivalry. It’s about supporting your mate.
@liamhansbury1
@parkerthomasfc
But even if we assumed that the players are fine with it ‘because they know her,’ it sets a very dangerous precedent for all fans wanting that level of access which is not only a massive security threat, but also frankly impossible.
Really honoured to have been asked to contribute to this - you’ll be able to read my article on Friday, if you so wish!
Huge congratulations to
@CardyFreddie
who has been absolutely incredible at pulling this together, absolutely unreal effort.
We are incredibly excited to launch the first online fanzine dedicated to Arsenal Women! 🔴⚪️

What sort of chain of events have happened in my life for me to be sat in the press box at the Westfalenstadion as England reach the EURO2024 final?!

Fourteen years old.
Let that sink in. Fourteen years old and paving the way to ensure football is as accessible as it should be for autistic fans, neurodiverse fans and disabled fans.

Gutting. To be going through for 90 minutes, to then being knocked out with 40 seconds left, to then scoring to progress, and then being knocked out after the final whistle.
Wow.

Hopped in an Uber outside Stamford Bridge and the driver was so keen to show off his knowledge of CFCW players, joked about sockgate and showed real interest in the WSL.
30k fans is great, but interactions like this are what make me so excited for the future of women’s football.

In the space of a 20-minute-long press conference, Marc Skinner has both emphasised the importance of pressure *and* said that it’s not about pressure…
Make it make sense.
Whether or not you agree with Emma Hayes’ stance on player-player relationships, to bring it up this week given the severity of discourse around player-coach relationships comes across as being massively tone-deaf in my opinion.
Finally on the way home from Wembley - three hours on the coach, four hours sleep at home, then rinse + repeat tomorrow for my third London trip this week 😅
If you didn’t watch the game, I genuinely can’t put into words how bad that referee was.
WHU have every right to feel hard done by - the dominant side for 85 minutes.
Wasn’t even just 50/50s either, some blatantly wrong calls from José Maria Sánchez.
The match report from London Stadium as a controversial refereeing performance sees West Ham bow out of the UEFA Europa League.
