A new episode of Retail Archaeology is out now! It's been almost 6 years since I did a video covering this mall. I wanted to do something fun for this update video, so I brought along old digital cameras for some lo-fi photography 📸 💾
JUST IN: UPS Teamsters have overwhelmingly approved a strike if not deal is reached by August 1. A strike could mean delays for receiving your packages along with a significant hit to the economy.

I think we can all agree that a McDonald's dining room was a heck of a lot classier with one of these Tiffany-style light fixtures hanging over your booth. (1981)
I took the worst digital camera I own to the mall this afternoon. I believe America Online sold this thing back in 2001 directly on their online service. I don't think it was available in stores. It's an overall terrible camera, but it's fun to play with.
Me: *playing Animal Crossing*
Wife: Are you pulling weeds in that game?
Me: Yeah.
Wife: There's weeds in the backyard.
Me: How many bells you paying per weed?
Wife: What?
What’s your dream Star Wars item to own but you’re convinced you’ll never get? Mine is kind of silly, but I still want one really bad. I want an Episode 1 Pepsi Machine.
Patty, my older dog, passed away. Her health suddenly started to decline rapidly over the last 4 days. Yesterday I had to make the decision to let her rest. It feels emptier in my house without my piglet oinking around.
I think one of the ultimate liminal spaces in malls are these corridors in old department stores. The ones with the portrait studio, optical department, the salon, ect that lead to an exit. They're usually kind of quiet and eerie now.
Holy shit, 100,000 subscribers. Thank you so much to everyone who has subscribed over the years and stuck around for my nonesense 😁
I'm kind of speechless.
Is Arizona really the only place where Water and Ice stores exist? Any time I've shown one or talked about them in a video I get a lot of "what the hell is a Water and Ice store?" comments. They are magical places when you live in a desert.
Ok
@TeamYouTube
it's now been over a month that your team has been working on fixing your mistake on my channel. This is getting absurd. My channel does not "feature minors". We explore old and troubled malls and stores. Please re-enable the comments on my videos.
I might be the first person to play an Atari Lynx at the mall since 1991.
I might be the first person ever to play Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure on the Atari Lynx in the mall the movie was filmed in 😁
I did a video a little over a year ago about Joann being in trouble. A lot of arts & crafts people were mad in the comments, telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and that Joann was fine.
Joann, the 81-year-old fabric and craft retailer, has filed for bankruptcy as it struggles with customers cutting back on discretionary spending.
However, its roughly 850 stores and website will remain open for business.

Last night I saw a commercial for ball sack deodorant. The lady in the commercial straight up told her boyfriend "you have smelly balls".
‘COYOTE VS ACME’ is now expected to be shelved and deleted forever.
Warner Bros wanted $75M - $80M for the film and rejected offers from Netflix, Amazon & Paramount, refusing to let them counter-offer.

I know racism is real because any time a non-white person is in any of my videos I have to go through and delete so many horribly racists comments. It's some of the grossest shit I've ever seen. If you think racism isn't still an issue in this country please educate yourself.
There's a Denny's at my hotel and it has a lounge. It's simultaneously the coolest and saddest thing ever. Late night beers at hotel bars are great but having one at a Denny's lounge makes it even better 😂
Hey everyone, I'm sure you've noticed my videos have been pretty sporadic lately. I'm dealing with some difficult things in my personal life right now that have made it hard to focus on making videos. I'm getting to a better place now mentally but it's all still a lot to process.
I've got a vintage Pizza Hut vibe going on tonight. The old school logo is on the box, I got a pepperoni original pan style, some arcade games, and root beer in a magical red cup. All I'm missing is the table cloth 🍕
I found a

shopping cart while I was out taking pictures the other day. It was in pretty good shape. The nearest Kmart is 100ish miles away and this wasn't here the last time I was here taking pictures. I wonder where it's been hiding?
A few years ago it was announced that all Fuddruckers restaurants would be closing. This didn't actually happen though. The franchise business ended up getting purchased and many franchise locations like this one in Mesa, AZ are still open.
I just finished filming a dead mall and had a fantastic time. The owners of the mall reached out to me and invited me to come film the place 😁
The fact that mall owners are now understanding the importance of documenting these places is a big win.
When I was in high school I had a classmate who worked at Walmart. He chased after a guy shoplifting a TV. He was shot and killed. He died trying to save a big corporation a few hundred bucks.
You're not a cop. The store doesn't pay you for loss prevention. Don't do this.
