Some of our team went to speak to the York Probus group last week to share with them about the work we do. We received a very warm welcome and they asked us lots of interesting questions. Thank you very much for your support!

It's a joy seeing God's hand at work in the lives of our residents. "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6 #sundayreflections

Our Wednesday drop in last week had great attendance, and one resident started learning how to play chess. Strategy and forward planning are great transferrable skills! (Image by eloiroudaire77 from Pixabay)

It is reassuring to be able to tell residents that God is good and He cares for them. "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him." Psalm 34:8

Attendees at our creative hub had fun doing some artwork together recently. The hubs have become popular among many residents as a place to meet together and enjoy hobbies and activities.

One of our residents is completing a college qualification and her housing support worker went along to see her as she finished some final bits on her project. It's great to be able to support people whilst they learn skills to help them move forwards in life.

We have a new blog post on our website, looking at how the process of building a gingerbread house is a bit like the work we do helping people rebuild their lives at Restore. You can read it here

We had a special guest at our Wednesday drop-in last week...Hilary brought her dog Roy along to meet everyone, to the delight of many residents. For animal lovers who can't have a pet of their own, it's great to be able to provide opportunities like this.

Jesus said to them, “The foxes have holes to live in, and the birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to rest his head.” Luke 9:58. It is reassuring to know that Jesus has experienced and understands the situations and emotions that many of our residents face.

We received this lovely message from a resident over the new year: "Thanks for your help and support over the past few months. I appreciate everything you do and have done for me." You're very welcome! Thank you for your kind words.

We thought we'd share pictures of our newest property. Its female residents put up Christmas decorations and feel very much at home! If you'd like to explore landlord opportunities with us and be part of our mission to make homelessness extinct in York, then please get in touch.

At the beginning of the new year, this verse is a useful reminder of why we do what we do... "Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3:18 #sundayreflections
