Little Timmy has had an awful night in so much pain with a severe headache 😔 The air pressure is extremely high so it is likely to have exacerbated his Chiari malformation pain. It is thought the pressure can affect cerebrospinal fluid flow, this can increase intercranial pressure. Timmy has had his usual meds and top up meds but needs to see the vet for some low dose ketamine. This works extremely well, typically for around 4 weeks. If you suspect your Cavalier has pain too do see the vet. If they aren’t already diagnosed then using the free Chiari Check tool is a great place to start- #caninechiari #chiaricheck #cavpack #syringomyelia

Timmy went to see his neurologist yesterday to adjust his meds and make a plan for when his chiari pain is worse. He’s been having quite a bit of breakthrough pain recently. Now he has some adjustments made and some things in place for bad days❤️ #chiarimalformation #caninechiari #cavalierkingcharlesspaniel #cavpack

Crime Scene! Look away if you’re squeamish! I have to tell you that sadly, Henrietta the indestructible hippo is no more, after a vicious unprovoked and sustained attack she has suffered catastrophic injuries and is now limbless! At a separate time, approx between 11.46am and 12.01pm yesterday, another innocent toy was needlessly attacked losing a foot in the frenzy! The culprit is suspected to be a female tricoloured Cavalier named Dora, baby faced with pleading eyes and an innocent demeanour! Known to have a very waggy tail and a way of deflecting all the blame onto her brother! What do we think? Innocent 😇 or guilty 👿

Poppy and Willow are 15-month-old beautiful little Cavalier girls looking for a wonderful and committed forever home together ❤ They came to the rescue in very sad circumstances and have been loved and well cared for in their previous home. The girls are a pleasure to look after and have settled into their foster home really well. They love other dogs, and Willow especially loves everyone she meets! Poppy is a little more shy and reserved and takes a little longer to warm up and trust you, whereas Willow will literally sit on your head minutes after the first introductions! They travel really well in the car, either in a crate or on their harnesses plugged into a seat belt. They love their walkies and are happy exploring. The girls like to be close to their humans but can be left for short periods with no issues. They are great being bathed and groomed- any attention is good you see! Poppy and Willow currently have no known health issues. They are spayed and up to date with vaccinations and parasite preventatives. We are looking for a happy, active and playful home for them. They are such sweet girls with hopefully a long and happy life ahead. Poppy and Willow are in foster in North Lincolnshire. Their adopter(s) must purchase a comprehensive insurance policy, or have the means to cover future health issues. Please research costs before submitting an application. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property. Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dogs a home, and have fully considered their needs. The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time. You are more than welcome to email us with any questions-info@blisscavalierrescue.org Please read our adoption procedure before applying – Apply –

🐶 It’s £1 Friday! Can you spare just £1 to help a Cavalier in need? Adoption fees barely scratch the surface of our vet bills. Almost every Cavalier who comes into our care needs extensive treatment—major dental work, a full vaccination course, neutering, echocardiograms, and medication. Some arrive with such serious health conditions that we need to commit to covering their veterinary care for the rest of their lives. As you can imagine, the costs quickly add up. That’s where £1 Friday comes in. If everyone who sees this donates just £1 (or whatever you can spare), it makes a huge difference in giving these Cavaliers the care they deserve. 💙 How to donate: 🔹 PayPal (please use ‘Friends and Family’ to avoid fees): 📧 info@blisscavalierrescue.org 🔹 Bank Transfer: Payee: Bliss Cavalier Rescue Sort Code: 20-98-98 Account Number: 13381951 Every little bit counts, and we’re so grateful for your support! 🙏

Rory is a gorgeous six-year-old Blenheim boy who came into rescue under sad circumstances. He is looking for his forever home ❤ Rory is on the larger side of the Cavalier breed, so if you love an XL Cavalier, Rory could be the one for you. He has lost some weight since being in his foster home, and his diet and exercise will need to continue in his forever home. Rory loves his walks and currently enjoys one or two 20–30-minute walks a day. Since being in his foster home, he has shown his playful, puppy-like side and loves playing with balls and soft toys. He gets along with other dogs but would also be happy as an only dog. He is cat-friendly and hasn’t been bothered by the resident cat, though a careful introduction would be required. Rory is a soft, gentle giant who loves his humans and is good with children, so he would be fine with dog-savvy kids in his new forever home. However, he does have separation anxiety, so his new owner would need to be home most of the time. Rory has a grade 3 heart murmur, but following a heart scan, he does not currently require medication. He will need a repeat heart scan in about a year to monitor his condition. He has been neutered and is up to date with parasite preventatives and vaccinations are being completed. Rory is in foster in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. His adopter(s) must purchase a lifetime, comprehensive insurance policy, or have the means to cover future health issues. Please research costs before submitting an application. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property. Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs. These beautiful girls are waiting patiently for their forever home 🥰 Wilma and Harper came into rescue in sad circumstances. They are both 3 years old and are loving, sweet girls. They are looking for their forever home together. Wilma is a little nervous and experiences some separation anxiety, but she’s fine to be left alone for short periods. She absolutely loves cuddles, kisses, and tummy rubs—so much so that she will nudge your hand for more! She is very sweet and gentle, and once she gets to know you, she becomes deeply bonded. Harper is a sweetheart but also a bit of a diva. She’s cuddly, often pushing her way in for attention, and loves to sit on your lap. Harper is hard of hearing but is learning hand signals and can now follow some directions. She does guard food from other dogs but is fine with Wilma. She’s also good with dogs she meets on walks or when they visit, as long as no food is around. Wilma and Harper are bonded and sleep together in a crate in their foster mum’s bedroom. They look out for each other, and Harper often cleans Wilma’s face. They love cuddling together, whether it’s in the same bed or on the sofa. They are incredibly sweet and just need the right forever home. Harper has chiari malformation and mild syringomyelia and is on inexpensive medication which needs to be continued. She’s a little on the chunky side but has lost some weight in foster care. This will need to continue in her new home, and she will need to be monitored when eating or separated from Wilma, as she tends to take Wilma’s food—likely contributing to her weight gain. They are heart-clear and have no other health problems besides Harper’s CM/SM. Both girls have been spayed while in rescue and are fully vaccinated and up to date with parasite preventatives. They have previously lived with cats and are better suited to a home with older children. Wilma and Harper are in foster in Wakefield, Yorkshire. Their adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Please research costs and health conditions before submitting an application. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property. Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs. Gorgeous Teddy is looking for his forever home after being with us for some time to manage his obesity and have bilateral patella surgeries. Teddy is 3 years old and looking for a home with at least one other dog ❤ Teddy came to the rescue in sad circumstances from a loving home. Unfortunately, he was more than 5kg overweight and had grade 3-4 luxating patellas on both knees. He did fantastically well with his weight loss on a low-fat, sensitive diet that must continue in his forever home. He is now at the perfect weight, and we must ensure his adopter does not allow him to gain weight. He has had orthopaedic surgery on both knees with a specialist, which we worked extremely hard to fundraise for. He has recently been signed off by the orthopaedic specialist following his 6-week post-op x-rays. He is now building up his exercise, and his prognosis is excellent. He will need to be appropriately exercised and continue to build this up, but is expected to be able to exercise normally for his breed, i.e. 2-3 miles a day, with no issues. He is heart-clear. Teddy has dry eye and is being treated for it, which must be continued. He is neutered and up to date with vaccinations and parasite preventatives. Teddy is a cheeky boy. He can be pretty ignorant—quite common in the breed! So if he is busy sniffing something then you will be ignored! He loves to be with his pals and walks and travels well with them. He is anxious if he goes out on his own, but he has always lived with another dog, so this is what he is used to. He is an easy-going chap who loves a fuss and has a lovely nature. He likes to bark at squirrels and birds—just the typical Spaniel stuff. He is not great with cats as he loves to chase them. Teddy prefers to be with you at night and sleep in the same room as you. He is great to be handled and groomed. Teddy is looking for a loving home where his adopters are around most of the time. He cannot live with cats and needs a home with at least one other dog. Children 8+ would be ok. Teddy is in foster in North Lincolnshire. His adopter(s) must purchase a comprehensive insurance policy, or have the means to cover future health issues. His knees will be excluded from insurance cover so do be mindful of this.
