I thank my colleague from Oregon —
@RepLCD
— for cosponsoring my Death Tax Repeal Act.
We need to
#AxeTheDeathTax
to stop the federal government from putting family farms and family-owned businesses out of business with a massive tax bill when a loved one passes away.
Our ag trade deficit has eclipsed $43 billion, 3 out of 4 farmers expect bad times for the ag economy in 2025, commodity prices are low, and farm incomes are falling.
@HouseAgGOP
passed the Farm Bill 132 days ago to help our farmers with these challenges and deliver relief.
My friend and
@WaysandMeansGOP
colleague —
@RepCarolMiller
— hit the nail on the head.
Raising the corporate tax rate will only raise prices for our families, hurt investment and retirement accounts, and push American businesses out of our country.
We don’t need more tax hikes!
If the corporate tax rate is raised, consumers and employees will bear the brunt of the cost.
I penned an op-ed in
@FortuneMagazine
on the importance of maintaining the corporate tax rate, or better yet, lowering it.
The Farm Bill includes my Crop Insurance for Future Farmers Act.
This legislation will lower the cost of crop insurance for the next generation of
#IA04
farmers and producers.
When we invest in the next generation, we can keep our rural communities strong.
Earlier today, on my
#36CountyTour
, I spoke at the five-year anniversary celebration of Lopez Foods in Cherokee.
Businesses like Lopez Foods support good jobs, promote economic development, and keep our families rooted in rural

.
Here’s to many more years of success!
Last year, the House of Representatives passed the Lower Energy Costs Act to strengthen American energy production.
This legislation also included my amendment to ban China from buying American farmland suitable for energy production.
China has no right to buy our farmland.
Today, my Regional Director — Jim — attended the ribbon cutting for a $100-million addition of a corn syrup refinery at the Cargill plant just west of Fort Dodge.
These investments spur economic growth, create jobs, and keep our rural
#IA04
communities strong and vibrant!
I appreciate my
@WaysandMeansGOP
colleagues —
@RepAdrianSmith
and
@RepLaHood
— for working with me to protect American corn growers and hold Mexico accountable to the
#USMCA
.
We cannot let Mexico’s unscientific ban on U.S. corn imports stand.
Today, my Ways and Means colleague
@RepDanKildee
and I led a letter to USDA and USTR urging continued engagement with the newly elected President of Mexico – Claudia Sheinbaum – over Mexico’s ban on American corn imports.
American corn growers deserve certainty and relief.
Today, my Regional Director based out of Council Bluffs — Abby — attended the grand opening of Russ’s Market in Glenwood.
This is the first new grocery store in Glenwood in 50 years!
It’s been 131 days since
@HouseAgGOP
passed the Farm Bill.
We strengthened crop insurance, increased reference prices, doubled funding for trade programs, and included protections to keep our farmland away from China and our foreign adversaries.
This morning, my District Director — Emily — stopped by the Marshall County Veteran Coffee and Camaraderie to meet with our
#IA04
veterans.
Veterans who need help with the VA or receiving their benefits can contact my office at or call 202-225-4426.
Mexico's unscientific ban on ag biotech and U.S. corn is detrimental to our markets.
Today, we joined our colleagues in a letter urging
@usda
and
@USTradeRep
to continue working with the new President of Mexico over this ban.
U.S. corn growers deserve certainty and relief.
Iran’s missile strike on Israel is unacceptable & horrific.
The Iranian regime funds terrorists worldwide – including Hamas and Hezbollah – in a coordinated effort to destroy free nations, target innocent civilians, and sow chaos.
The United States stands strong with Israel.
Today, my Ways and Means colleague
@RepDanKildee
and I led a letter to USDA and USTR urging continued engagement with the newly elected President of Mexico – Claudia Sheinbaum – over Mexico’s ban on American corn imports.
American corn growers deserve certainty and relief.
It’s now been 130 days since
@HouseAgGOP
passed the Farm Bill.
Between low commodity prices and declining farm income, we must get the Farm Bill signed into law to deliver certainty and relief for our producers and
#IA04
agriculture.
