Also since I've had two gin&tonics; if you're tying with natural fiber rope that's like 5-8mm and you're using carabiners and thin metal "suspension rings"... yes, your Rope is eventually going to break. Loaded cordage should NOT make a bend of more than 3X it's diameter.
