@MarilynHeineMD is a tremendous advocate for physicians and patients. She is quietly behind the scenes doing the work! I admire and appreciate her so much ❤️

Great to see all the amazing things that Pennsylvania physician, AMA board member and my mentor, Marilyn Heine, is doing for organized medicine. There’s no better advocate for physician issues than Marilyn!

The AANP says that 70% of NPs practice primary care, but HRSA says it's more like 24%. Who is telling the truth? @pppforpatients

Imagine this: You are a resident, and you give birth in the teaching hospital where you train. Suddenly, your newborn baby is acutely ill. Instead of a physician, the NP you just rotated with on the ADULT heme/onc service in charge of your baby's care.

@HalstedMD @NorthwesternMed 20 cases under supervision to then independent - how does this compare to GI fellow requirements? There is such cognitive dissonance... physicians must complete years and years of training but NP/PAs are allowed to take shortcuts HELP ME UNDERSTAND

@PAsRTSolution1 @pppforpatients It’s a big experiment on patients to allow NPs/PAs to have their own panels - I don’t see academic institutions studying this even though Hattiesburg ACO changed policies to true physician led teams based on their safety/ efficacy/ cost data.

@PAsRTSolution1 @pppforpatients “Steaban said the hospital now has more than 300 APPs, and they are responsible for most direct and minute-to-minute provider care in the hospital, in collaboration with attending physicians.
