I hadn’t realized this, but this is the longest nomination drought of her career. She’s done a lot more TV work since 2018 so she hasn’t had super large film roles since The Post, but still does seem odd to go that long without a nomination
Meryl Streep, we miss you at the Academy Awards. It’s been seven years since Streep was last nominated for an Oscar for her work in Steven Spielberg’s “The Post” in 2018. Seven years without Streep is a long time.

I get it because of the fires, but as someone who wants to watch everything before the awards, I’m bummed about the two days I could use to watch the nominees that I hadn’t already seen.
The announcement of the Oscar nominations has been delayed to January 19.
