I just discovered my last acceptance was my 100th!
Almost 89% of my subs are rejected.
Yet I kept trying.
In 9 years, I have had 100 stories accepted.
Never take no for an answer. Sub again.
Someone will buy it, eventually.
Find your people. Rock their world.

Had 25 things published. Over 95% were for pay.
Lots of stuff still to hear from.
People who get rejected the most are trying the hardest.
Rejection DOES NOT EQUAL FAILURE.

Yes. In 2014. I ended up writing over 180 stories. I published an anthology at the end of it. I'm still selling some of them now. It's a lot easier than it sounds. I took a month to find ideas I was excited write. That got me thru 10 months.

He was in Coventry for 2 signings & was too early for both, so he went to a 3rd indie bookshop & signed stuff there for about 1hr before going to his next signing at Waterstones. Did 1hr there & went to Ottakars & signed there for 2hrs.

This yr I got a no. Filed it.
Months later, same editor emailed me.
Is story still for sale, couldn't stop thinking about it?
Reader, I sold that story. A rejection, into a pro rated sale.
That stuff can & does happen.

Can't say who until they are happy with me doing that. It won't be coming out until next year but that means I can start 2020 knowing I've got 1 publication in the bank already.

My grandads were exempt. 1 was an undertaker, the other was a coal miner. I don't know if any other relations were there though. Undertaker gramps did a lot of business during the Coventry Blitz, apparently. Pushing a handcart, helping the ARP wardens.

I knew someone would buy that story. I thought it'd be an American market, but they didn't get it. I was never going to stop trying, even if I only got $1.
