This is a lift in the Parthenon Gallery at the @britishmuseum For three steps and less than a metre. Would love to be in the mind of the people that commissioned this; instead of say a ramp. Oh, and there’s two of these. At either end of the gallery.

Telling bare faced lies in the public domain isn’t a good look
Elon Musk, the richest man on earth, is dismantling USAID, which feeds the poorest children on earth. This is oligarchy at its worst. Musk’s actions are not only immoral and unconstitutional, they are counterproductive to our standing in the world.

And hopefully now there’ll be some transparency and accountability
Elon Musk seized control of our payment system—that's how your grandpa gets his Social Security check or how your mom’s doctor gets paid by Medicare. The unelected billionaire wants the power to turn that on or off, for anyone. No more business as usual. We need to fight back.

I like @BernieSanders - I think the (Un)Democratic party robbed him of the 2016 presidential nomination with super delegates and therefore gave us Trump. But @RobertfKennedJr did answer this question. And did so beautifully: “Free speech doesn’t cost anything. Someone who smokes for 20 years is disproportionately taking for the collective pot” (I paraphrase). So, yes, we’d all like healthcare that is effective. But unlike light, air and free speech (which don’t directly cost) - healthcare can be a human right alongside shelter/housing, which cost a lot. And last I checked the homeless have few friends amongst powerful legislators
I like the slogan "Make America Healthy Again." I agree with that effort. But when I asked Robert F. Kennedy if health care is a human right, he couldn't give me an answer:

“A healthy person has a thousand dreams, but a sick person has just one.” 🤯
Robert Kennedy Jr. just endured 3.5 hours of relentless grilling by Senate Democrats—but to their dismay, he responded with poise, deep knowledge, and an undeniable passion for tackling America’s chronic disease crisis. In his opening statement, he expertly broke down the nation’s health catastrophe, exposing the alarming trends plaguing millions of Americans. “Today, Americans’ overall health is in grievous condition. Over 70% of adults and a third of children are overweight or obese.” “Diabetes is 10 times more prevalent than it was during the 1960s. Cancer among young people is rising by 1 or 2% a year. Autoimmune diseases, neurodevelopmental disorders, Alzheimer’s, asthma, ADHD, depression, addiction, and a host of other physical and mental health conditions are all on the rise, some of them exponentially.” “The United States has worse health than any other developed nation. Yet we spend more on health care—at least double, and in some cases triple, what other countries spend. Last year, we spent $4.8 trillion, not counting the indirect cost of missed work.” “A healthy person has a thousand dreams. A sick person has only one. Today, over half of our countrymen and women are chronically ill.”

I don’t condone cruelty. If you have a problem with MPs being able to hire just about anyone, then campaign for some better system. A mother taking care of her son is to be applauded. There’s plenty of parents who are doing society a disservice by not being better parents.
BREAKING - Labour MP who employed son as Parliamentary Chief-of-Staff, then threatened to smash a journalist’s face in with a bat when he asked her about her son’s drug dealing convictions, is made Sir Keir Starmer’s Trade Envoy

No small irony that Deepseek released an open source model (and a ‘gift to the world’ according to @pmarca) and @OpenAI is closed…
CHINA: China is illegally using American Ai technology made by $NVDA to build a powerful Ai model called DeepSeek R1. The LLM was released it for free using an open source license. This is a massive blow to US Ai companies like OpenAi and Antropic.
