(5/20)Although this is not a new update in ADA 2024, it was included in ADA 2023 but i believe is extremely essential for all clinicians to do OGTT in first trimester to screen for early abnormal glucose metabolism

(2/20) Looking at the updates in section on diagnosis:
ADA has clarified that unless the patient is having hyperglycaemic crisis, 2 out of 3 screening criteria are required
Also, patient needs to take atleast 150 g carbohydrates for 3 days before OGTT to avoid false high results

(6/20) Teplizumab is now included by ADA in guidelines for age >= 8 years and stage 2 of diabetes with atleast 2 antibodies positive

(3/20) Further ADA has included antibody testing as first line for diagnosis of type 1 diabetes and 3 years after diagnosis: c peptide less than 0.24 ng/ml rules in T1DM irrespective of blood glucose values and greater than 1.8 ng/ml rules in T2DM
