In Digimon Adventure they wanted Tentomon to counterbalance Koushiro's seriousness, giving him a "just living life" personality, so they gave him Kansai dialect. But Sakurai Takahiro lied during the audition saying he could do it, making Tentomon have a a comically bad dialect.

In the early concepts, when Digimon still was Capsule Zaurus, the designs were much more simplified and focused on creating elemental monsters. A much more linear and simplified approach could be seen here but for trademark and copyright reasons, the concept changed completely.

These interviews were a great read. Making a story about a younger sister who learned how to love Digimon even after it became "retro" and connecting with an older brother who had been a Digimon fan in the past, but has since moved on from it. I can't wait to read all 4 issues.

Originally there wasn't a setting for Lord Knightmon to use the belt blades as actual swords as it was done in Digimon Frontier. It's just that the scenario writer kept putting "used a sword" in the script, so the animation staff made this setting to give Lord Knightmon a sword.

Amazing report!!
It does confirm that Digimon Dreamers was originally planned to be an adaptation of Ghost Game, but became its own thing because of common schedule reasons. Was the better choice, Dreamers uniqueness is so interesting, I want more of it.

I didn't expect to have new stuff in the BD interviews for "Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning", but there's some nice stuff about the development. First, it didn't start as a movie, but as a 4-episode mini-series, it needed a catchy theme, so The First Child was chosen.

When Habu asked the opinion of everyone else about Taiga's goggles, they in fact thought it looked like a bra. Habu joked about it "When a boy in the prime of adolescence wanders into an unknown world, that gives him a sense of openness and allows him to wear a bra on his head".
While making the Taiga sketches for "Digimon World Re: Digitize", the goggles as drawn by Yasuda were very triangular, and that gave Habu a deep expression of cat ears. Yasuda didn't answer if this was intentional, but for Habu the concept of Taiga became "he's a cat-eared boy".
