I was in a “test audience” for Barbie and they pulled all the white middle aged ladies out of line and into the theater. Leaving the gays/theys and under 30s out which is very much the audience that should have seen it. I don’t trust those focus groups.

In addition. We as a theater community who continue to work with/enable such folks, are partially responsible for the continuation of the cycle of abuse. As hard of a pill that is to swallow. Silence IS Violence. Stand with victims and speak out.

So Broadway is reopening. That doesn’t mean that the fight for equity is over. Nor should you go back to “business as usual.” There are still abusers that need to be called out. Racism that needs to be addressed. As well as equitable treatment for all, all across the board.
