@brobro122629 Good to hear. Sadly I was only getting it from Waterloo to Clapham Junction, so I did not get a chance to notice all the finer points!

@Captain_Deltic @pacer142 @WilliamBarter1 @philatrail @holdmch @MickWhelanASLEF I wouldn’t say it was junk, but it was better before the latest upgrade. (Though to be fair, they seem to have listened to feedback and restored some of the functionality that got lost in the upgrade.)

@WilliamBarter1 @Captain_Deltic @philatrail @holdmch @MickWhelanASLEF I vote for National Rail. The app already exists (albeit that the latest redesign made it less easy to use) and it already has a “buy ticket” function.

@stefanroberts @kitchentowel The trouble for any government is, they spend the money building the infrastructure, the next government but two gets the economic boost. Which future politicians will be basking in the success of HS2?

Revealed👀, the teams responsible for delivering the project’s state-of-the-art track, signalling, communications, and other critical systems ⚡🚆. This is a significant step in transforming nearly 140 miles of tunnels, bridges, and earthworks into a fully operational railway. Here’s a quick breakdown of the main contractors and their roles👇

@TomDCoates It is, I promise you, a good thing to do. It is a rare example in this country of taking a truly bold approach to solving a problem rather than fiddling at the edges, which is what we prefer to do. It is a project the Victorians would have recognised and applauded.

It is worth looking at the figures in the latest #HS2 progress update. 52 viaducts, 175 bridges, 72 cuttings, 111 embankments. Many would be major projects all by themselves. Notice, btw, that viaducts, bridges and embankments easily outnumber cuttings. Lots of views en route!

A stunning aerial shot of the Colne Valley Viaduct in today’s #HS2 progress update. Also a couple of useful progress charts.

@PaulMBigland I can think of another prominent commentator who said it would be a flop, but I will spare his blushes. Suffice to say the same person predicts HS2 will be a flop.

@Cornishview Opposing HS2 is a prime example of political posturing over what the country needs! The whole purpose of HS2 is to free up capacity on existing lines to allow more local and regional services.
