So FNaF: RUIN contains a lot of new redesigns and changed details for a lot of character models and a bunch of people actually think they have significant lore relevancy so I'm going to explain why each redesign likely happened and what it is. A thread:🧵.

One of the second most talked about redesigns is Roxy!!.This design was changed to fit the Fazwrench port and as well to give the character a more unique endoskeleton design, this is a trend within RUIN and is very clearly an artistic choice. Her head shape is different now.

First off the one I originally made a joke about Candy Cadet:. Does this really need an explanation?.The original model just doesn't look that good, and in fact looks somewhat poor in quality, the character obviously only needed a glow up and SW did it extremely well

Next on the list is Freddy!.The ONLY difference in his design is the "PROTOTYPE" stamp on his foot. I feel like the reasoning for this is to explain that since he is a prototype, that is why he was not affected by the virus. It seems like SW forgot about the "SAFE MODE" boot up.

Third is Monty!.He has very little change in his design but his endo head is slightly altered and his teeth have changed very slightly

Now heres the big one, THE MIMIC!.The only reason in-universe I can think of is either because he rebuilt himself from being Burntrap, or the Burntrap ending never existed. IRL explanation, Burntraps endo was a somewhat lazy mashup of Springtrap and the normal SB endo, thats all.

@WolfClaw666 Even if it’s the best out of all of them Walter Files is definitely the most blatant rip-off. The main character is literally a broken mix of original and toy Bonnie and is straight up named “Bon” 😭.

Not every little (or big) design change needs a complicated lore answer, and I get why people think it does, the series has an extremely annoying habit of making extremely miniscule details super important, and then in the same stroke completely change giant details----.

--- with absolutely no explanation, its frustrating and should certainly be a trend that the series leaves behind, but unfortunately it won't. That being said I feel like a lot of what RUIN gave us is mostly straight forward and doesn't need an extreme in-depth look like SB.

@habitovin One of my biggest issues with + that this very rarely talked about is how bad the art style makes them look as well. For the original FNaF Scott’s early CG art style worked ok because the environment was very simplistic as well as the characters and textures. Phil’s environment-.
