@teachwellall Okay. What do I do with it now? How do I turn this sound bite into actual useful advice for me or my department?

@Truthfairy74 Use the schools options evening to see the subjects, ask their advice etc. we want to get things right just as much as the students. 2/2

@warwickmansell My subject didn’t exist in 2010 so I am fairly happy with the reforms to be honest…

@Gingerblast It looks like the PHB debacle all over again, people cherrypicking art they don’t like and presenting it as the whole thing. In reality there will be a mix of art.

@FayeGriffiths8 @Strickomaster Not really. I came to disagree with the premise of teacher as activist. Granted my approach was a little direct, but I wouldn’t have called it rude. At which point you decided to be rude.

@FayeGriffiths8 @Strickomaster You literally made bollocks up from what I posted and you tell me to read? Get over yourself.

@FayeGriffiths8 @Strickomaster I didn’t. You made that up. I just don’t think it is my job to force my beliefs onto other people’s children.

@FayeGriffiths8 @Strickomaster I’m a teacher not an activist. You may consider them synonymous but not every teacher does.

@GalleryNew @rsoltysek2024 While this may be true for those students for most academic success does improve their chances for work success. If nothing else it gives people more choices in life.

@AfLPie @adamboxer1 At that point in your career you won’t really be immersed in their subject curriculum, it takes several years of teaching it to do that. Effectively what you are doing is adding a significant amount to an already packed schedule. At least in 2ndary.

@sputniksteve @adamboxer1 Maybe we need a bit more utilitarian in education? Thinking back to my PGCE, the best bit of it was the classroom practice supported by some excellent mentors. The subject sessions were also pretty good, the rest, not so great. The essays I wrote were pointless.
