When the rain stopped this afternoon, there was a brief spell of changing light on The Bell, with Wetherlam still in the mist behind. Coniston Fells.

Back down to the lake again this afternoon. This week it’s colourful trees. Next week it will be fast, colourful boats as the speed records week takes place here on Coniston Water.
Not often you get to walk around Tarn Hows and not see a soul, but what we did see this morning was a hen harrier and a green woodpecker 😲 (not in the photo though 🙁).
This morning at Elgol on the Isle of Skye, one of my favourite places. Six years since I’ve been here and I’ve been looking forward to a magnificent lobster salad sandwich from the shop there, only to find that it only opens on Saturdays at this time of year! 😢😂
A walk amongst some of the industrial heritage in the Coniston Fells this afternoon. Windy, with frequent showers and brief patches of bright sunshine. Challenging photography conditions, but great to be out there 😊
Pictures taken from around Crag Head, above Brantwood, Coniston. The Coniston Fells, Harrison Stickle and Pavey Arc, Coniston and the last one shows The Gondola heading southwards down the lake.

It is Gold Hill in The town of Shaftesbury in Dorset. It was used in an advert for Hovis bread and apparently also featured in the film Far From The Madding Crowd. 😊
Sad to see that people ignore the signs and continue to wild camp in the Site of Special Scientific Interest that is Tarn How’s 🙁
