One element that has been grossly overlooked by most analysts re: Trump’s victory is trust. And I think it’s not only an important factor, but deciding one. In the end, Americans had two choices for who to lead them forward at this very precarious moment: 1. A vague, non-committal, & unconvincing candidate who, by all appearances, seemed to be nothing more than a party-appointed, optically-palatable, positionally-malleable figurehead for a much larger, hidden political machine — a machine which trafficked heavily in lies and divisive rhetoric to maintain control and, consequently, wrought some pretty significant havoc on the country over the past 4 years, And 2. A tested but flawed, unguarded & outspoken candidate who has, whether deserved or not, been the target of incessant maligning and performative persecution by the above mentioned havoc-wreaking machine for years. I think this was very much a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” situation. IOW, the vote was much more of a fuck you than a fuck yes. And the lesson here — which I find very reassuring — is that serving up lies & obfuscation and calling it good governance is a losing proposition. If not immediately, almost certainly in the long term. And trust is very expensive to squander. Losing it is easy. Getting it back infinitely more difficult.

This is extremely concerning. Eleven year olds are being shown cartoon videos in schools which tell them that if they feel uncomfortable when their body begins to change with puberty that they should go to a therapist who may refer them to an endocrinologist who can prescribe drugs which can delay the onset of puberty with no side effects. We are creating a generational nightmare for our children. Watch this video and tell me what I am missing. It doesn’t appear to me like a medical education video. It’s a recruitment film.
