@AJamesMcCarthy One of our favorite things to do as a club is to attempt urban astronomy from different locations in downtown Birmingham (Alabama). It always amazes me what we're able to show people from a very light-polluted area. It takes planning, effort and perseverance to pull it off! 🔭

Meanwhile, in space:
Blue Ghost has "merged" onto the highway to the Moon! After a successful Trans Lunar Injection burn, our lander has left Earth's orbit and begun its 4 day transit to the Moon's orbit. We'll then spend approximately 16 days in lunar orbit before we begin Blue Ghost's descent. This gives us plenty of time to calibrate our navigation system and continue payload science operations for @NASA. #BGM1

The RESILIENCE lander is in good health and in the Earth orbit phase of it's planned trajectory towards the Moon! The Observatory’s Technical Team recently inspected the 60- & 100-inch telescopes to put together a plan for a dew control system to keep moisture off the mirrors. Photo shows the 60-inch on its side during inspection.
