I am grateful for the leadership of Craig Carlisle @carli39906 — president of the Alabama Baptist State Convention — for guiding us in the Praying Alabama emphasis across our state. His heart for our state is so evident. He is a blessing!

Praying for Mary Sue Bennett and family in the passing of her husband, Don. He served as Baptist campus minister, and Mary Sue served as my assistant at the SBOM and FBC Tuscaloosa. I appreciate them as faithful and dear friends to Pam and me for 42 years.

Last year, Alabama Baptists reported a 28% increase in baptisms. We are thankful to God for this improvement. Much more needs to be done. Engage 3:16 is an effort to focus on intentional Gospel preaching on March 16 followed by a baptism Sunday: March 23. Pray for this effort.

The passing of Jim Shaddix, well-known professor of preaching at SEBTS, leaves us saddened but appreciative of his life and ministry. We pray for his dear family during this time of grief. Jim was a blessing to so many.

Praying for countless families confronting the sudden loss of life and homes after an air ambulance crashed in a crowded area of Philadelphia. Praying also for first responders still at work.

I appreciate the ministry leadership of Russell Klinner @rklinner at @shoccosprings. He is doing an outstanding job of leading his staff to be laser-focused on serving the Lord.

I join the host of people praying for the families of the victims of the midair aircraft collision in DC. This tragic event reminds us of the fragile nature of life. Let us do what we can for the glory of God while we have time.
