Why do I play Destiny? I rarely finish a season, I don’t chase seals, my triumphs are accidental, raiding is too challenging for me, I lose a lot in crucible, I get lost in missions. I take breaks. So why? Well, I play because I love the game. That’s it. That’s all. 🧵

I started playing Destiny in 2015. Destiny was there for me as a rehab tool from brain surgery & 2 strokes. Through seizures & partial blindness (that I never discuss), I’ve leaned on it during times of mental struggle. Don’t judge people for gaming before you know their story.

Don’t let drama push you away from a game you love. I spend time in the environment appreciating the effort & talent it took to create it. Those small details we sometimes miss that are there because someone takes pride in their work & loves their career. It’s inspiring. 🧵

I go back & look at screenshots I took during Destiny 1. All of us veteran guardians should do this, and remind ourselves how incredible the emotional investment & journey from D1 to D2 has been. So for me , I won’t worry about drama, I’ll just have fun. 🫶🏼✌🏼

Honestly, I feel like someone just plugged my soul into a charging station. People have laughed at me for mourning Cayde for so long. Cayde was there when I was recovering from brain surgery; & made me smile when I needed it. Veteran D1 hunters needed this. Thank you

The lasers that lock on to our guardians is a real trigger for seizures. Not liking it. I have to use invis and wait until my ability recharges so I don’t have to see it. I really dread the activities that it’s in now. 😔

So the grandparent duo Spire dungeon isn’t happening. I had a seizure. We tried & almost finished Akelous. But harpy beams & bright eye mechanic are too much for me. We are giving it up; not worth the risk. It is a beautiful dungeon & I’ll miss the cowboy hat. 😔 I’m ok. 🫶🏼

Last night was a real struggle when I played Destiny. Audio issues, my hunter felt real squishy, the title confusion, and honestly I don’t like the modifier where the enemies are shimmering invis until you’re close. Not great for people with visual accessibility issues.
