While many collective action efforts are going on in parallel, to remind the efforts before our time, let me tweet about a working paper we have on one of the first grassroots collective action efforts of women in the US taking place between 1873-1874: The Temperance Crusade.

@ben_golub @emollick @joshgans What now? We would re-adjust the bar for what we expect to get published and what we give credit to. We’ve always done this as the costs of doing various research activities fell. + These papers are likely to crowd out the long tail of papers, which may not be a bad thing.

@HLarreguy @DAcemogluMIT @tse @iast It is unfortunate that we are so conditioned to expect the people on top of a profession to be dismissive and unkind. Daron is a role model in the opposite direction.
Daron’s productivity is jaw dropping and inspiring, but I have always been more impressed with how nice and supportive he is to others. A total contrast to people who reach success and see that as license to be a j*&@. He is a true role model in that sense.

@joshgans @DAcemogluMIT I will second this. This prize does not even begin to cover some of his most insightful work on technology and labor markets. Hopefully those contributions get recognized too.
