@_sloveni_ @archisoteric This was/is a real problem. With God's help, this is precisely when we began our mission parish. People were so glad we were open, but even these people could not endure Asceticism. They looked for a church that validated their fears without demanding anything. Alas...

@DohMkay @YoungPenitent Granted. In my parochial experience, there has been a huge influx of zealous people who want to be right or on the right side. Some settle in to the ascetical/liturgico/Sacramental life and others, driven by self will, refuse to. The question is what kind of zeal?

@DohMkay @YoungPenitent Today's converts (broadly speaking) have a shallow zeal polarized by constant internet in-feed. The convert and cradle Orthodox must be converted. Spiritual guidance is rare, and new zeal is egotistical.
