Not an actual football expert, I just play one on a pod. (Didn't want no stinking Blue Tick, just the Tweetdeck. Forgive me.)

@TonyBergo Yeah, he was a fantastic footballer. And I kinda perversely like post-footballing Rooney. But no, he is not one of my fave players because I would have had to like him when he was playing. I did not.

@SouthMetroAFC @SimonSaidItBest I'm with you. Vieira wasn't the answer. As I understand it, the clauses likely don't allow us to end it unilaterally. Which goes back to my point on agreement. But we seem singularly ill prepared without Edu.

@SimonSaidItBest Havertz was injured after the window closed. We gonna call back Vieira after the window closed? Wow. I'm not sure that's a thing.

Play Tierney. Or Calafiori. Or someone who wanted to be here, or who we want. Or change the formation. But not an unloved player we never trusted and who'll be bloody miserable. And who'll rot on the bench. We're not calling back Saka here. He'll literally be just a body We have a cpl of those already.

@Bjjbaba @SimpleL0547 Get a grip. Adjust your time horizons. It's going to be fine. Or you can get an expensive life lesson.

@GINfluencer14 @YankeeGunner @steveha07602835 The original topic was leadership/captaincy. It is not a function of latest form. But Mesut Ozil was world class when he was in the mood.

@GINfluencer14 @YankeeGunner @steveha07602835 And to be clearer. Form is temporary. Leadership is permanent. And it was on show loud and clear against City. For comparison, Mesut Ozil was a terrible leader but his passing/moments were almost always perfect.

@YankeeGunner @steveha07602835 Anybody who thinks Odegaard isn't an excellent leader of the team needs to rewatch the City game but this time just watch Odegaard.
