@arul_anpu_ Thank you for informing me on this. I didn't know it was about this as the tweet, as well as most of the replies, don't mention India. You'd have to read my tweet in very bad faith to see it as a defense of the caste system though

@futarch In the case of Lithuania, a Lithuanian Soviet Republic was established, and the Red Army advanced to support it, but was unable to stop the advance of the Polish army and had to retreat, and the Soviet Republic was defeated in 1919.

@CrisisLow Stalin's rise was also determined by material factors, mainly the international isolation of the Soviet Republic. Don't know why you're putting words in my mouth

@konijn_klaas Not glorifying them, I just don't think they deserve to be purged for having a different position on the national question. I do think that in the territories of the former Russian Empire, support for national self-determination was the correct tactical choice at the time.

@konijn_klaas Ironically, Lenin was worried about the very thing you're doing now: that the allied powers would misrepresent the anti-nationalist communist position as support for Russian imperialism
