@typesfast I procrastinated a lot. So to buy more time, I would open the doc file in txt editor, remove a bunch of random characters, then save it. When opened by prof, its corrupted. There would be parts of my essay visible, & I'd get benefit of the doubt and an extra day or two to finish.

@Jason Actually, I blame tech for that one. DVD sales used to make up half their revenue so when that died due to streaming, they had to make all their money in theaters. Because of this, they weren’t willing to take risks on films anymore and always went with the lowest common.

@Austen I know it shouldn’t be, but loading a webpage with gigabit versus 100 Mbps is night and day faster. So it’s not just bandwidth in the traditional sense… also, you can stream 4K which is my main use case.

This is why I am against safetyism. Gating every decision by putting safety first is, in fact, not safe. A better approach is: less friction to building but less reach, quick evaluation, iteration, expansion.
