Perth Doo’cot Cricket club are delighted to announce the signing of Scotland International Safyaan Sharif🏴
Safyaan brings a wealth of experience to our playing and coaching group, with over 120 caps and nearly 150 international wickets over the course of 11 years.
The club was proud to field its first Afghan player today, Zahid Khan, who left his home 6 mths ago and played his first game of organised cricket in the friendly against
@RenfrewCricket
, clean bowling their OA in a fine spell. Well done, Zahid! Glad to have you with us!
PDCC ARE 3 COUNTIES CUP CHAMPIONS!!!
After a thrilling final, Perth Doo’cot ran out winners by 7 runs to win the 3 Counties Cup for the first time in club history. Up The Doocs!
Not very many positive cricket stories at the moment, but we have one! The new grounds person appointed at Doo’cot Park is Greg Denton formerly of Sussex County Cricket Club.
Thanks to Club Professional and Scotland international Safyaan Sharif for coming along to juniors this evening to chat to our junior section about his experiences at the World Cup.
We knew Greg Denton was doing a top job for us but the stats from this season confirm it: ave. home 1XI score of 199-8 (RR 4.71) v 150-9 (RR 3.49) in 2019, the season before he joined us. Keep up the great work, Greg!
Olly Patterson has been buzzing since his joust with
@leasky29
a few days back, taking 9 wickets at an average of 7.11, including 3-32 for Cally last weekend and eyepopping figures of 5-11 from 7 overs against Aberdeenshire's top order yesterday. Well done, young man!
Cricket really is the best sport in the world, isn’t it? The scenes as the 1st XI beat Meigle on the last ball of the game to keep their CS T20 qualification hopes alive
Olly Paterson celebrates the dismissal of Rory Johnston, as
@the_forfs
are reduced to 295-1 in Wednesday’s T20 game. Olly posted commendable figures of 2 for 35, including the scalp of Michael Leask, whose pedestrian 198 (70 balls) saw Forfs to 322-3. PDCC totalled 77-8 in reply.
Happ 70th birthday to PDCCs scorer Roddy Macphee.
Roddy who was scorer for decades at the North Inch has now been scoring for over half a century. Volunteers are so important in our game and it’s folk like him that give their time freely. Thanks Roddy from all in cricket locally.
Our congratulations to Hugo Johnson and Aaban Owais, who have been selected for
@CricketScotland
's U-15's winter training programme. It's the first time the club has been represented at youth national team level. Very well done to both of them. We wish them every success.
Well done to talented junior Conor Ferry on being called up by
@CalyHighlanders
U-15s for the first time.
Conor has made massive strides this season, scoring lots of runs for the club's junior teams and making 44 on his 2nd XI debut.
Good luck Conor from all at PDCC🏏🏏
Well done to our Ladies Team, who today won the Wee Bash Tournament at Bells Sports Centre. The team played the game in fantastic spirit and dominated with the bat and ball. They played six games and won all six. Well done to all involved and the coaches for all the hard work 🏏
On behalf of our 1st team, it was pleasure to take on
@leasky29
and
@johnston_rory
last night at
@the_forfs
. Though they sent the ball to all parts, it was a worthwhile learning experience for our bowlers. Good luck for the rest of the season, guys!
The Perth Doo’cot Clubperson of the Year for 2020 is Jack Emslie! As a youth coach, player and selfless and tireless volunteer and helper, Jack has done a lot for the club in the last few seasons and is a very deserving winner of the award. Well done, Jack!
Olly Patterson has been in the wickets for
@CalyHighlanders
U17s in their 2-day match against
@Warrior_Cricket
, taking 5 for 11 from 9 overs to help bowl them out for 54. Well done on those excellent figures, Olly!
Congratulations to

Over the past year our woman’s section has seen a large growth in participants of different ages and backgrounds, who all share the same love and values for the game.

A wee shout out to club legend Jamal Ali, who is currently averaging 245 in Division 1 after a brace of unbeaten 71s and 102 no against a strong Meigle 2s on Saturday, inspiring our 2s to a 3rd win of the season! Keep it up, Jamal! Mind the cars in the car park, though!
Great day out for Doo’cot women, leaving the Perth sunshine to play in chilly Edinburgh. With debuts from Ranjana, Haj, and Ines, the WaGs enjoyed games with Edinburgh South, Uddingston, Watsonians, and Mary Erskine. Highlight was the tight game between the two Doo’cot teams.
Here's our skip, Rory Pennycook, collecting the cup from the legend that is Fergie. Thanks to all the supporters who came along to make it a special day!
