She and her pal Dora toured the UK in the 50’s in her Austin 7, she always had her photo taken by a postbox and tried to bag as many as she could. Sadly she didn’t record the locations, you literally couldn’t make it up!

A great haul of cards from the Wirral Postcard Club fair yesterday. I did better than I expected and would have been happy with this lovely munitions card alone. This was reasonably priced and had been in the dealers stock for 6 years! Just shows, seek and ye shall find!

Today’s black cloud task, typical collateral damage when you buy a job lot. I’m ok on the postcards but what on earth do you with the rest? Dump them on another dealer seems to be the obvious solution. But then you start actually looking and maybe there’s something interesting….

The album turned out to belong to Percy’s father Harry Thrower, he was a gardener in his own right and the album documents some of his exploits. Thrower is an East Anglian name and Harry, born in Suffolk worked for the Quilter family at Bawdsey Manor
