Stoked to see expansion in situ genome sequencing (ExIGS) through hard work by @z_chiang, @ajaylabade31, @carolinecomenho! Early proof of concept was a big part of my PhD with @Andrew_C_Payne and @z_chiang. Amazed by the robust protocol and amazing data the new team developed.
7 years ago, I met a junior fellow named @JD_Buenrostro who blew me away with a vision of futuristic genomic technologies Today, we (@ajaylabade31, @carolinecomenho) are excited to share our first steps into that future: Expansion in situ genome sequencing 1/

I'm thrilled for Homeworld to be supporting such great teams! Huge appreciation to @D_R_Goodwin, Paul Himmelstein, and Ariana Caiati for being fantastic teammates and working so hard make our first Garden Grants a success.
Homeworld Collective is thrilled to announce the results of our inaugural Garden Grants Program. TLDR; $1.3M to 16 awesome teams to take their best shots at “big, if true” ideas for climate biotech. 🧵

Natural methane sink enhancement would offer enormous near-term warming mitigation potential. Spark's exploratory grants offer up to $300k to start sink-enhancement research. Fantastic to see an open problem statement model on top of funding, to help learning and collaboration!
Spark is launching a new research funding opportunity to advance scientific understanding of methane sinks and whether, and if so, how, they could be safely enhanced to help mitigate some of the risk from increasing natural methane emissions

Stoked to launch Garden Grants to fund the de-risking of early-stage ideas in climate biotech! The first call for proposals is scoped on protein engineering and sustainability. Can't wait to support exciting ideas from the community!
How can funding change a whole field? When it creates a cultural shift. We're thrilled to announce the launch of Homeworld's Garden Grants Program. First call: protein engineering toward sustainability goals. We co-built this for and with the climate biotech community 1/

Thrilled to announce Homeworld Ideas, a climate biotech writing competition co-hosted by brilliant writer @NikoMcCarty, with additional support from @pillar_vc ! Enter: More details: Why we're doing this:
We've met with over 500 people in climate biotech, and we see that some go further than others. As scientists, hobbyists and entrepreneurs, we must realize the water in which we swim is writing. Homeworld presents a $10k prize to encourage practice and joy of this skill.
