Some people have reservations about genitals but being gay or lesbian isn't about genitals, there's more to people than that. .

i’m gonna take this chance to reiterate what i’ve said before. Gay people: your family, friends, and neighbors do not give a fuck about your rights. They think it’s annoying and kind of pushy when you bring it up. They miss when it wasn’t something they had to acknowledge.

My community is gay males, so I'd say I have a pretty good sense of community. Also, for the record, trans people didn't give us our rights (Marsha didn't start the Stonewall riot and wasn't trans, btw). Decades of tireless activism by our gay & lesbian elders & ancestors did.

Not feminine ≠ "self-hating". A lot of us don't connect with stereotypically gay stuff. This errant belief that all gay men are innately feminine needs to go away. Some of us like metalcore and Star Trek, not Crabapple Groan and Drag Race.
