Oh, so more insult to injury with my former publisher GPG going vanity press this Spring, and breaching my contract and that of their 20+ other authors…
I just discovered they had been skimming 34% of my royalties for nearly the last 2 years.

I’ve been silent for the last 2 months, hoping this would be resolved professionally. It has not, so I am forced into the regrettable position of making a statement. Due to circumstances outside of my control, my novels are temporarily out of print.

@WomenPostingLs
Terrible take. Not an L.
It’s sadly not uncommon for authors to schedule events and no one show up.
@neilhimself
has stated that even as a famous author it’s happened to him.
Dunking on someone’s lack of success through no fault of their own is an L for you dude.
That being said, for the next few weeks, if anyone wants a copy of my books, I do have a few copies on hand of The Missing and The Holiday Killer. Just DM me and I’ll be happy to get you a copy.
And I’d appreciate y’all’s best wishes as I self publish soon.

Big NEWS‼
I'm going to be published 🙌🙌
I am super excited to announce that my debut mystery/crime novel "The Missing" has been selected for publication by
@GlobalPublishG
More news to follow! 😁

@jbharrisbooks
I am trad published and did not have an agent. I asked for 10 days to consider the offer. I went over the contract with a fine tooth comb, decided it was a very fair contract, and went for it. A year later I’m still happy.
Through communication with my fellow authors, we discovered that the initial action of severing our contracts was in fact a breach of contract by GPG.
The contract states “after 3 years, but not before.” Neither of my 2 books have been out for 3 years.
#WritingCommunity
10/
I was advised at this point to speak to a literary attorney. I did. He confirmed the breach of contract and advised me to file a small claims court suit, if nothing else than to get a court judgment that my contract was indeed rendered null and void.

As disappointing and unexpected as this was, I was prepared to make the best of it. GPG had promised to let us have the edited manuscript files and book cover artwork as a parting gift. My plan was to simply use the 2 month notice to self-publish.
#WritingCommunity
4/
I sent an email, politely thanking them for our past relationship, and kindly requesting the promised files so I could prepare for self-publishing.
10 days passed with no response. I sent a polite nudge. Still no response.
#WritingCommunity
5/
Yesterday, one of my fellow GPG authors finally got a response, but only after threatening legal action.
GPG replied defensively - essentially telling us to “lose the attitude.”
They also said our books would come down from Amazon within 72hrs.
#WritingCommunity
15/
In doing so, they severed all contracts and gave us the choice of either finding our own way forward with a new publisher/self-publishing — or PAYING them to “republish” our books to keep them in print. We were given til March 1st to decide.
#WritingCommunity
3/
At least they’ve finally kept 1 promise: as of this morning my books are no longer available through Amazon or any other marketplace.
Since my final royalty payment is promised for March 15th, I’m still hopeful GPG will come thru by then 🙏🏻
#WritingCommunity
16/
So I sent a 3rd email, again requesting the edited manuscript and cover art files.
A month passed without a reply. It was now Feb. 15, and 2023Q4 royalties were due. Without explanation, they were not paid, despite promises to do so.
#WritingCommunity

On Jan 15, GPG sent out a 2nd mass email to its authors, repeating the same info, telling us to not reply to the 1st email but to send a new email if we had questions - oh, and telling us they didn’t “have the luxury of time right now to address every email.”

The next day my uncle was murdered in his home.
I honestly didn’t think about my publishing woes for the next 2 weeks. However, the March 1 deadline was fast approaching, so I sent another email on Feb 28.
Still no response.

March 1st arrived and still there had been no communication from GPG. Additionally, my books were still active on Amazon and other marketplaces — which meant I couldn’t republish them and any continued sales lined GPG’s pockets.
#WritingCommunity
13/
I reached out to several other GPG authors like
@mccaulleyauthor
to see if they’d fared any better than me. Their experiences were identical. Shock, frustration - and no response from GPG. They also hadn’t been paid royalties.
#WritingCommunity
9/
I reached out to
@amazon
. The news was bleak.
Amazon insists they can do nothing and I have to 1st resolve the “dispute” between my publisher. They also backhandedly blamed this on my choice to traditionally publish in the first place.

14/
On Jan 1 of this year (Happy New Year!) my publisher, Global Publishing Group LLC (GPG), sent its 23 authors an email stating they are “restructuring.” Essentially they have switched from being a traditional publisher to a “publish-for-hire corporation.”
#WritingCommunity
2/
By now, I was ready to be done with my publisher and was willing to let the breach of contract slide, but without communication and with unpaid royalties, I was stuck in limbo.

Choose better words: “rams” conjures images of intentional malice. Driver stayed on the scene and is cooperative, indicating it was likely accidental

Honest question: what would a state firearm seller license do that a Federal Firearm License doesn’t already do.
And this bullet point makes it sound like Florida gun sellers are completely unregulated and unlicensed which is untrue. They have a Federal License.

Go to “police activity” or “live leak police” on YouTube. They post hundreds of officer involved shootings. Most never make news because the cops were justified. The media just like to amplify the questionable ones and make it seem like that’s the norm. It’s not

Gets asked a Bible question. Immediate answer is, “Well, my personal opinion is…”
His response highlights a huge problem among so many Christians: their personal opinions/experiences are their authority not the Bible — to the point this man calls “good” what the Bible calls sin.

Your rhetoric is ugly and your contempt palpitable. I don’t know how the sentence “...offering up an explanation that slid off his tongue and went dribbling down his chest like liquid contradiction,” made it past the editor’s desk.

If they praised it as well-written fiction, then 🤷♂️ I like to think my book has mass appeal.
If for some reason they were misrepresenting my book to have some hidden meaning that aligned with their hate, then I’d put out a statement of denunciation.
@THEBELLIOUS
well typically this page is known for calling out self-inflicted L’s. Sure, this event didn’t work out for her, and I guess you could classify this an an L, but it’s very off-brand for this page and seems mean and petty 🤷♂️

I was a freshman at college. No early class that day so slept in.
Walked in the bookstore to see students & staff huddled around a small tv. Watched the 2nd plane hit live.
Me & another guy ran outside to the flagpole and lowered the flag. I left college and joined the AirForce.
@StephenGutowski
Annoys me when news shows talk about 3D printed guns but their media graphic is a regularly manufactured handgun.
Sends the impression to the viewer that it’s possible to 3D print a handgun that looks like a 1911 instead of that Liberator monstrosity.
Clearly intended to deceive.

Seriously? Probably gonna unfollow.
Drop the info. And if it’s good, people will follow and you’ll grow. But don’t hold info hostage. It makes you clickbaity.
News!
While all the mess with my last publisher isn’t what I wanted at all, I’m glad to be moving forward. Stand by for more news and a new book cover reveal!

I'm at least as reliable as Wikipedia! 😂

I’m just curious: if rail travel became the primary mode of US trans, if this would increase security risk causing DHS to shift TSA to screen rail, thus increasing rail travel time.

Kind of sounds like the media has lost its focus and has developed a tunnel vision on Trump - to the detriment of more serious reporting.

I can’t go into it here, but based upon my experience in the Air Force, there is a very normal, but highly classified explanation for videos like this.
Also, our intelligence and defense folks have zero qualms about lying to cover up top secret projects and tech.
