As mentioned by @nicksdjohnson on the call today, the @LineaBuild team will work towards making the Linea Stack based and native compatible. Namechain is a great candidate to be based, with strong PMF. The Linea Core team and I spent this week diving into the architecture with Justin and folks from ENS, Status, OpenZeppelin, Spire, L2BEAT, and Titan. I want to thank these folks for dedicating their time. What excites me most about this direction is the potential for collaboration, with an energy reminiscent of The Merge. It must be said that there are still open questions, especially for ZK rollups, to become based/native, but I’m confident that our R&D team combined with other passionate researchers working on the same problems can overcome these hurdles. The key will be coordination and fast decision making, and I think our experience here will be a huge asset to FABRIC. For the Linea community, I see this direction placing Linea Mainnet at the heart of Ethereum as a payments hub, with both MetaMask and Consensys helping to onboard users and institutions. All dapps and assets on Linea will be able to seamlessly connect with the L1 and other based rollups, with no extra trust assumptions, tapping into the network effects of the largest smart contract platform in the world.
