His death is a great loss to all who knew and worked with him.

The family of a man who has been missing from St Andrews for the last four weeks have renewed an appeal as enquiries continue to trace him.
Paul Johnson, 74, was last seen at around 10.45pm on Wed, 15 Sept, 2021 in the town.

The 74-year-old was last seen around 10pm on Wednesday, 15 September at his home address in the Hay Fleming Avenue area of the town.

We can confirm that a man, 21, has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious sexual assault of a woman, 83, in Glenrothes.
The incident happened shortly after 5am on Thurs 25 June within a property at Meldrum Court in the town.
Today Police Scotland and Fife Division bid a heartfelt fond farewell to our much respected Constable, colleague and friend, Carol Crawford, who died on Sunday 4th October 2020.
We're please to confirm that Nicola O'Hara from Kirkcaldy has been traced safe and well.
The 30-year-old was found within the Dunfermline area at around 1.30pm on Thursday 22nd August.

ARREST - A 40 year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault on a 25 year-old woman in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline on Sunday, 24 May.
He is due before Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday, 8 June.

We can confirm that a 26 year old man has been charged with communications offences following the circulation of an image on social media that made reference to the death of George Floyd. The man is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court and enquiries are continuing.

We've now charged a 74-year-old man following the hit and run collision between Elie and St Monans, which resulted in the death of 43-year-old Scott Walker.
The male will appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.
A facial reconstruction of human remains found on an industrial estate in Glenrothes has been released aiming to identify the man whose death remains unexplained. The remains were found on Sun, 27 Sept, inside a unit on the estate in Whitehill Rd.

Following the death of a peacock within Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline on Monday, 31 May 2022, two children, aged 13 and 11, have been identified in relation to the incident.
A report for the 13-year-old has been submitted through the Youth Justice System.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of retired colleague Kevin McMeechan.
Kevin retired from Police Scotland in 2018 after 24 years Police service. His funeral took place this morning.

At the High Court in Edinburgh today, Thursday, 5 January, 2023, Stephen Whyte was sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexual and violent offences, including rape, in the Fife area.

Around 12.20pm on Friday, 6 January, 2023, police were called to shop premises on St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy. A 62-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 62-year-old man can now be named as Bill Ireland.

We can confirm that missing man, Joshua Gregory, has been traced safe and well.
The 27-year-old was last seen on Saturday 30th June on the B958, near to Errol.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged following a series of incidents where items were thrown from a pedestrian flyover in Glenrothes.
The incidents occurred between 16 July and 6 August on the B921 and left two people injured.

Remains found in Glenrothes, Sep 2020, are those of Ean Coutts, 61, from Kinglassie. His death is being treated as suspicious and a man, 31, has been arrested and released pending further enquiries. More:

We are appealing for help to trace Chloe Ramage, 16, who was last seen around 1pm on Monday, 8 May in the Saladin Street area of Kirkcaldy. Chloe is 5ft 2in tall with long brown hair.

The body of a woman was found in a car in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Drive area near Aberfoyle around 2.30pm on Monday, 20 February, 2023.
Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Leeanne Rutherford, reported missing from Glenrothes, have been informed.
Police are urging the public to check any private CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage they have that may help in their search for Paul Johnson (74) who's missing from St Andrews.
